2. There's way too much both mentally, physically, and educationally
that they need that will only be gotten by attending HS.

3. High school is the last 'common experience' we have in this country.
That's why there are so many films about high school, but not college.

4. There are no jobs for 18 yrs olds.. what would 15 yr olds do with all that free time?
probably not much that's worthwhile

BUT

taking that test, might let them and their teachers know what knowledge they had accumulated:)

6. Get breast implants, make home porn videos... Wait, no, they can't do that, either.
Why don't we just lower the age of adulthood to 15, then the problem is solved. Drinking, driving (not while drinking), working, sexual consent, and everything else. I've never understood age limits in this country, and now that I'm the father of a teenage daughter, I understand them even less.

7. Teenagers are so much fun, aren't they?

a guy on some lecture series late at night said that the reason why babies are so cute for so long, is so they imprint in our brains, so we don't kill them when they are teenagers:)

5. You left off "I have no idea what the recent GED flurry of posts is about...
...but I'm willing to learn."

8. Don't they?
Personally, one of the great regrets of my life is not taking the GED, and instead wasting three years in high school learning nothing and being so depressed, it took me two years after it to get enough gumption back to go to college.

10. Only the stupid ones would remain in school. I am assuming High School still sucks
as much as it did back in the '60's.

I hated every day I was forced to attend, still hate the memories of it 45 years later.
