Yesterday my daughter told me she thinks the news is giving her nightmares.
She asked if we could listen to the news less when I pick her up after school. She had nightmares five nights in a row this week. For now, my job is still to tell her she is safe here. Some day, when she's old enough to understand, I suppose I'll be able to tell her the news sometimes gives me nightmares too.

3. I totally understand...
My kids went to the Veteran's Day Parade yesterday with me to see their older brother in his NJROTC Full Dress Uniform marching...

my youngest told me he saw a man crying and when he looked up one of his eyes was 'broken', and they are wondering about the people in wheelchair in the parade...i said they have probably been like that for 40 years - because THAT is what war does to people... so sad...

i am creating some little liberal peacemongers here, myself!

Hugs to you and your duaghter...we are living in scary times, for sure :grouphug:

4. I don't watch very much news
Unfortunately my dad likes to watch alot of news. Sometimes I have to ask my kids to go to a different room or sometimes I ask him to change the channel. All my dad watches is the news and his evangelical shows. I swear I think he really is waiting for the world to end and I really do think he believes it will end in 2012. It's kind of creepy to have such a morbid person in the house.
