Comfortable With Obama
Just one year ago, I was on edge. Irritated and, frankly, scared, life was
full of a constant worry. Bush was still in office.

A year later, and Obama is president. I am less irritated now and much less worried.

Life is easier now and i can relax more. Thank Gawd.
And thank you for helping to get Obama elected.

1. Worry less? Okay. But just relax now? Now is not the time to get complacent.
Obama won in part by demanding that progressives "hold his feet to the fire." If we don't step up efforts now, we won't see even the first steps toward healthcare reform pass for another generation. The institutional resistance to healthcare and insurance reform is damned powerful and we need all hands on deck.

Complacense in death.

7. Yeah, of course
But thinking back to a year ago, things are much better and when it comes
to who the president is, most all the worry is gone.

I work locally, and let me tell you, we're all taking a short break.
Is that all right with you?

3. Less worried, more disappointed.
Relieved Bush and Cheney aren't at the helm anymore at the least.

10. I Wish I Could Go Through Life Oblivious To My Surroundings, Too.
It must be awesome just to automatically feel better about the world, regardless of what's happening IN the world, just because the guy in charge has a D next to his name.

I envy you your mindless serenity.

12. Mindless?
What a stupid thing to say.
Having an Obama vs. a bush is like night and day.

Lad, you must be new, because the struggles over the years learn to temper saying such a stupid thing about someone you don't know.

Hmmm, they use to call what you did; bigotry.

13. First Of All, It's Called Literacy. Look Into It. You Second Sentence Make No Sense Whatsoever.
Second: crack a dictionary and look up the word "bigot". You obviously have no clue what it means.

14. mindless serenity
Lad, you say I have mindless serenity and that is a stupid, prejudiced and intolerant thing to say.

Then you question my literacy. I know what a bigot is and you are a fine example. Instead of a discussion you lash out with prejudice and intolerance.

Do you hate Obama and it eats you up inside so much as to make you lash out at a long time member of this board with your crap?

25. You Are Indulging In Some SERIOUS Over-Dramatization.
And, no...you don't have a clue what bigotry is. Someone bursting your pretty widdle picture of Obama as Jeebuz and Santa combined is not bigotry. Meet me at a gay bar around closing, and then walk back to a parking garage with me, and you'll learn about bigotry.

I shouldn't have been so rough on you, what with my harsh words of "mindless serenity". I didn't realize how fragile you were. Do you want a cookie?

16. Politics
is about the greater good not about an individual's comfort level.

Meanwhile the number of mercenaries in Somalia on the Pentagon dime increases.

17. heh
That's the problem. Some think we should always be agitated to the max with every gawd-damn thing. Been there, done that. It sucks.

Know why most people don't want to get close to politics? Because some
people in ploitics just have NO comfort with any it and act f'n crazy all
the time.

We've been through the wringer with stolen elections, and lies leading to wars, so excuse me if I find a comfort level with what I campaigned for and won.

Who, in their right friggin mind thought that Obama was gonna have everything fixed already? Who thought just by electing Obama the work was finished?

Not me, but we got yahoos here who think that that one thing was like
a messiah should have taken over. Get real.

20. Heh?
That was just a rambling discourse.

You campaigned for what? An individual or or for people friendly policies? What did you win?

Vigilant and calm is okay. But whatever state you personally are in don't rely on any political personality.

23. Yeah well, I ramble
I campaigned for Obama and the democratic party to beat back the
republican stranglehold on our country. We won the majority of the votes and most elections.

In doing so, we've moved up a notch to people friendly politics, eh?

Long way to go, yet.

And check your last sentence before going off on my shit. Geez.
Quote: ""But whatever state you personally are in don't rely on any political personality. "" WTF are you saying? What you wrote is gibberish.

19. Obama is MUCH better, but still a damned corporatist
He's not a fanatical facist, true, And he's very bright. We can do better than this though.

Another brilliant Democrat brought us NAFTA. How's that workin' out? Obama is a Clinton Republican, that's all. Goldwater would be proud.

But after being beat with a chain for 8 years, a belt seems pretty comfortable, I guess.
