Was Lou Dobbs Fired?
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 09:43 AM by Botany

Months ago the president of CNN/U.S., Jonathan Klein, offered a choice to Lou Dobbs, the channel’s most outspoken anchor.
Mr. Dobbs could vent his opinions on radio and anchor an objective newscast on television, or he could leave CNN.

I kinda think that he was given a choice quit or be fired. At least it seems that way to me.

1. Agreed. It appears that Lou continued his BS and they asked him to resign.
Leaving immediately does not sound like he resigned cuz he wanted to.

CNN has dropped so far they had to do it.

2. Announcement made suddenly, last show midweek?
You bet he was forced out. If he'd quit on good terms, they'd have had a big buildup to his last broadcast with highlights of shows over the years.

They'd also have had a replacement in the wings and be doing a blitz advertising campaign to sell the new show.

9. Yeah
Not so sure about him getting a grand send-off but you're right - ending his show mid-week - that absolutely means he either quit that day or was told to GTFO.

3. I don't know, but I've been hearing that he's been talking
to other networks for several months & his ratings on CNN haven't been very good in quite a while.

4. It would be kinda refreshing, IMO, for CNN to issue a statement saying,
"We canned Dobbs because we were sick of his racist tripe."

6. After the Latino in America series
CNN must have found out that latinos make a good portion of TV watchers

8. Fox News here we come!
Wonder if that channel would be big enough for Dobbs and Cavuto?

10. The only funny thing is that CNN
released him from his contract. Does that mean they will not enforce the not compete clause?

11. Lou thought too highly of Lou
and the sun melted all the wax holding his feathers on:)

Now he can do what he was born to do.. He can be a teabagger organizer or perhaps lead a band of the merry Minutemen on fence patrol..

12. Now if they would be more objective
in the articles they post. Most are all right wing slanted. What is wrong with the media that they can't post middle ground on all their articles. I know darn well there are enough democrats with something appointment to say. but all the post is republicans no damn wonder they dropped to last place. They think just because Fox continues to spew their hate and lie about their ratings, they can do the same. MSNBC has liberal shows but they also have the other side. It would be so nice to see all media do that.

I can't understand why re-instating the Fairness Doctrine was a goal of Obama administration and then was suddenly dropped period. Did the right wing noise machine with all the lobbyist money get to congress.
