8. NO, *doctors* are NOT "immune"....
MJ was murdered....by intent or negligence (or negligent intent).

That's the truth.

This story dominated the entertainment news all summer and now there's not much of a fuss over it.

15. It's not a *story*......it's about a real man's life (and untimely death)
It's about a man who contributed GREATLY to popular culture and "lots-o-fun" for many of us.

.....and YOU don't give ONE TICKER'S D*MN !?!?

May you have a son/daughter "just like you" (who doesn't give a d*mn).

16. A news story is an account, a summary, a synopsis, an investigation,
an assessment, a critical analysis, a string of events.

A story.

I'm real sorry you're upset, but 'story' is a pretty harmless noun.

Really, it is.

23. Very well, then, I'll re-do this post. New version as follows:
Edited on Thu Nov-12-09 12:55 AM by saltpoint

I do in fact know how the investigation is going.
I know which way the foxwind is blowing.
And the boats smoothly rowing downriver are ever silver
in summer's last hour.

Indoors the television screen appears
a slapdash cobbled din of leering fools --
liars, barkers, incessant tools
of a nation in deep arrears
to its original source.

What fuss then in the fog between what
drew Lincoln from the hills, or the angels
beckoning Earhart skyward, and how long
the shadow cast by clouds ever-changing
upon the strip mall's tawdry ruins?

19. well, first of all
in most jurisdictions, negligent homicide, if that's what you are claiming his death was, is not murder, by definition. it's manslaughter.

they are not the same thing.

apart from that, i'm not even convinced it's manslaughter.

Perhaps you should share it with the LAPD, so they can get up to speed?

that the LAPD does to *discern the truth*...LAPD is under a LOT of pressure to "discern the 'right' truth" *wink* wink* nod* *wink*

Not sure if it was one or the other, but to act like you can't even conceive of another conclusion besides murder astounds me.

39. MJ didn't administer the drugs to himself....they were 'given' to him
so any 'accidental overdose' was not by MJ's own hand. In other words, MJ didn't overdose himself. Someone ELSE did.

Malicious or accidental....that's the uneasy question, isn't it?

Another addict took one shot too many. Doesn't matter if he did it himself or someone esle did it for him. It's on him. Tragic, but this recovering addict is just gonna bow his head for a second, think 'what a damn shame', and move on.

20. What about Zorro? Now that would be a dashing story.
What a headline that would be on cable news, 24-7, for weeks on end, if Zorro was in fact the murderer of Michael Jackson.

26. People love Zorro because he always defends the defenseless and
saves peasantfolk in harm's way but what if in fact he was a double-dealing sonofabitch who kills pop stars?

That's the premise.

32. So? What makes MJ different from me/you?
Addicted to caffeine? Nicotine? Marijuana? Alcohol? Meth? Heroin?

What's your point? That we shouldn't "worry" about this man's murder (or hence, our OWN demise) b/c he was allegedly addicted to *something*?

37. Sorry, I don't put MJ on a pedestal. He was human and became an addict and tragically
lost his battle with his addiction.

You want someone to blame which is what most people do when they are grieving.

From experience, I can say for sure that the only thing that helps with grief is time.

Punishing other people is not the answer.
