South Park took on Glenn Beck tonight
It was not their funniest episode. I thought their "coon" episode was slightly anti-Obama but these guys have a habit of sparing noone.

1. I can't stand those "holier than thou" Libertarians
They basically think that if they just rip both sides that makes their view the correct one. Hey, that's the view of all Libertarians!

2. it;'s brilliant satire
and the smartest thing on teevee.

their kanye west fishsticks episode was remarkably prescient.

they rip both sides because both sides are rippable.

it's really that simple

bush? rippable. clinton ? rippable. obama? rippable

their george clooney smug cloud episode was classic.

clooney? hella rippable

they rip on those catholic league idiots, and the catholic church RELENTLESSLY.

south park is a good litmus test for ideologues.

10. "Brilliant" is overstating it a bit, I think.

They're unabashedly crude. I've never seen them do anything I'd call "brilliant", but they know how to get a laugh with shock.

11. i think south park the movie was brilliant
imo, it is one of the best musicals i've seen in a long time.

i mean, how great was the classic "shut your fucking face, uncle fucker"?

answer: hella great.

hella

and let's not forget "blame canada"

did you see "the morning after" episode, riffing on the obamaphiles (the people who thought everything would instantly change because the One (tm) was president?) classic.

the episode where the priests from all the different planets were discussing having sex with boys and how great it was?

the mormon episode?

the scientology episode?

kuhlassic!

12. Their Halloween episode with Korn was actually really good comedy
They parodied Scooby-Doo and had Korn voice their own characters, and it was just awesome.

That was early in the history of the show- only a few weeks more than ten years ago. The earlier stuff, before they made the movie, was a lot funnier than it is now (although the Sea-Monkey episode was very funny too).

3. I don't think they believe every thing they make.
I think they go with what makes them laugh, not what makes them correct.

4. I agree
they like to rip pop culture and popular thinking. Seemly irregardless of the truth. Part of their humor to them apparently is trying to make a certain section of the population mad and another laugh at the same time.

9. "South Park" creators build eco-friendly house in Steamboat Springs
http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/ski/2009-11-09-south-park-ski-mansion_N.htm

Hey their hearts are in the right place. Compared to some of the monstrosities in the mountains around here it looks like a cool place.

The $5 million Steamboat Springs home belonging to Trey Parker and Matt Stone features ceilings made of Douglas fir timbers salvaged from a rail trestle that once spanned Great Salt Lake.

The home also uses recycled carpet and in-floor, radiant heating.

snip

The home built in 2007 blends western design with Japanese accents. It has two dining rooms. One has views of a mountain valley, the other of an aspen grove.

In the rear of the property, at the end of a winding stone walkway, is a Japanese tea house with sliding screens as walls, and tatami mats on the floor.

5. That's the point of comedy to make fun where there is fun to be made.
Whoever is an ass will be a target no matter what their politics are.

13. I loved how they took on the bikers last week
I have to deal with a lot of that, leaving close to a major street, they gather at the Quicktrip station by me and rev their bikes like idiots.

Worst part is most of them technically suck.

The fact they're not wearing helmets is the only positive thing. They are not as tough as they think. Asphalt and car hoods are tougher.
