and I STILL want to jam a pitchfork up Emmerich's ass for what he did to Godzilla.

There's rumors of a new Godzilla movie being produced by Legendary Studios (Watchmen, the new Clash of the Titans), but it's not been officially announced. Emmerich said he wasn't interested in a sequel (thank Christ), but this would still be an American production. It's not clear if it'll be a reboot of the American Godzilla or if the real Godzilla will be used. Personally, I don't care which design they go with, just make the character actually be Godzilla.

14. I saw it in Japan

with a half dozen Japanese kids I'd brought along with my son. Gawd, it was embarrassing. We were so stoked, and had our big day ruined by that overwrought hunk of cheese.

Anymore, I'd just as soon Toho kept it out of American hands. We might have people who could do it right, but never with big money and Hollywood suits in the mix. If they're going to farm it out, I'd rather they gave to the Hong Kong Chinese. Those guys know how to do fantastical action with a wink and a smile, and wouldn't turn Mighty Godzilla into Jurassic Park with guns.
