Why did the DLC, centrists, Tony Blair's Labour Party et al adopt
"The Third Way" moniker? It has such ominous undertones in history. I've really never had the courage to ask until now. And I'm not trying to stir up trouble or an argument. I really want to know. Is it they do not know the term?

2.  Is it like taking the back stairs to the ninth gate or something?
I googled third way and I get political parties in India, Ireland, Israel, and dog training. So far nothing real skeery. Enlighten me, or occulten me if that's more appropriate.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that I posted on that thread. It sounds vaguely familiar.

5. As someone who has studied governments from Plato
to my college graduation date in the 70's (degree with concentrations in government and economics) I'm probably not the only one who has asked this question in their mind. I understand they want to say a middle way or alternative. I would just have called it something else. But they are free to call it what they wish.

I just didn't know if anyone else wondered like me or knew the history of the term.
