My apologies to DU and especially to my sisters...
I was blowing it off because it's a long way from being on Obama's desk and it still has to get through the Senate. I recognize that.

But, given how dangerous this is for women and their reproductive health, we should do whatever it takes to stop this thing and get it stripped from HCR.

1. If that's how you feel, you should do everything you can to help make it happen -
call Senators, write letters, demonstrate. :hi:

2. There's nothing wrong with taking a while to
Think over things.

Sometimes I am sure that I come across as intolerant or abrasive. However, often I try and remind myself that --
On all issues I care deeply about, I was once of the opposite opinion.

I used to even think that those folks opposing vaccines were ridiculous. And that GMO was the way to go.

4. Usually, I'll need some reading up time to get more informed...
It was that way when it came to decriminalizing pot and parental notification laws. Changed my mind and I'm proud to say so. :)

5. Yes, I think you are very definitely right.
Failing to get the ERA was one of the most devastating and shameful failures showing where our party really stands. We really do need it, and I wish our party was willing to back it. Unfortunately, our party considers it dead and unnecessary.

:(

Just the living ones.

"(3) Many do not know that a new Equal Rights Amendment was introduced on the floor of the Senate by Sen. Edward Kennedy the day after the initial ratification period had expired, or that it has been introduced in every Congress since 1982. The bills in Congress currently include one which would begin the entire ratification process over again, without a time limit."
