Yeah, we'll get an option.
It will at best be a 2% option, designed to fail by being set up to "capture" all the expensive, terminal cases that the privates want nothing to do with.

Health care "reform" is lost. This is about what I expected when Obama was elected, which is why I didn't really get behind him until it was down to the last 2 (every time I looked at Hillary I got a DLC tasete in my mouth). It seems pretty much in line with what I remember him talking about. I admit there were times when I had my hopes raised that there would be more.

And yeah, I'd vote for him again. I probably will vote for him again. There have been many advances, as has been pointed out here. Advances in areas that don't too much inconvenience the corporations. And DLC policies are better than Republican ones (at least where you can tell the difference). The DLC at least uses Vaseline.

1. Has Congress gone to conference and didn't tell us?
I'm in a wait-and-see mode myself.

9. I'm in a bug-up-their-ass mode
. . . wait-and-see is an invitation to a massacre in the Senate. We need to keep active. The Senate hasn't even put a bill out yet and folks are talking about hunching down behind a bill which even those who voted for it call a 'work in progress'. The next step in fixing it, it would seem to me is in the Senate. We'd better not get complacent and just try and play defense. That never works. It's interesting how we've accepted that the opposition will work to try and change the legislation in the Senate debate, but we've yet to formulate an offense to get what most folks say the bill needs to be responsible and adequate.

2. I would get the public option
and I'm not quite terminal, although profit driven insurance wrote me off 22 years ago.

I would get it if it kicked in before Medicare will, that is.

That's the worst part of this thing, the glacial pace at which it is scheduled to occur. It gives profit driven insurance companies another 5 years to kill us off.

I wish you all the best
and hope you can find decent coverage to get you through. I'm covered by Medicare and a very expensive supplemental I get from having been a state employee (my wife is not yet on Medicare--she's a little over a year younger than me; that's what I get for robbing the cradle, I guess).

6. I will vote for him as well
he has done many great things already. But if the bill stays the same as it is now it is pathetic. And yes, unfortunately our choices at this point is DLC crappiness and wingnut madness. Some choice.
