Let me tell you my conspiracy theory: Kucinich is a shill of the DLC.
Their plan is this: pair a progressive program (single payer) with a counterproductive tactic (voting "no" on a healthcare reform bill). In this way, they make progressives look silly. Throw Shirley MacLaine and a UFO sighting in there, along with a (paid) trophy wife, and you've further wrecked the credibility of the progressive movement. I can find no further explanation.

5. The DLC didn't need any help and the DLC doesn't need a
conspiracy because it is one to begin with.

7. There is some truth to what you say here
but Kucinich wakes people up to just how bad the DLC is, pushing them to go third party. So he is more likely a plant from the RNC.

Progressives do need a more credible leader. I have helped on two Kucinich campaigns and now feel that these were just an avenue to waste the time and energy of progressives.

Which should give people a good idea of what you've displayed up to now, as this is crazier than a box of frogs.

10. Sharpton's primary campaign was allegedly financed by Republicans so its possible

that opponents fund campaigns and politicians to make the Democrats look stupid or marginal.

I'm not sure whether the Kuch and Sharpton are deliberate conmen or just useful idiots for the powers that seem to benefit from their existence.

Sleeping With the GOP

A Bush Covert Operative Takes Over Al Sharpton's Campaign
Wayne Barrett with special reporting by Adam Hutton and Christine Lagorio

Tuesday, January 27th 2004

Roger Stone, the longtime Republican dirty-tricks operative who led the mob that shut down the Miami-Dade County recount and helped make George W. Bush president in 2000, is financing, staffing, and orchestrating the presidential campaign of Reverend Al Sharpton.

Though Stone and Sharpton have tried to reduce their alliance to a curiosity, suggesting that all they do is talk occasionally, a Voice investigation has documented an extraordinary array of connections. Stone played a pivotal role in putting together Sharpton's pending application for federal matching funds, getting dollars in critical states from family members and political allies at odds with everything Sharpton represents. He's also helped stack the campaign with a half-dozen incongruous top aides who've worked for him in prior campaigns. He's even boasted about engineering six-figure loans to Sharpton's National Action Network (NAN) and allowing Sharpton to use his credit card to cover thousands in NAN costs—neither of which he could legally do for the campaign. In a wide-ranging Voice interview Sunday, Stone confirmed his matching-fund and staffing roles, but refused to comment on the NAN subsidies.

16. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
I've never felt Dennis had a sincerity problem, more of a reality problem.

90%+ of people have no idea who Dennis is, bloggers notwithstanding, he is not the face of any large movement, and I think your OP incredibly overstates his importance to the national politcal scene.
