Show your support for Veterans by signing this petition asking Sen Coburn (R-OK) to stop blocking S-1963 "The Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act of 2009.” Can't pay for it, Senator, how about revoking tax cuts on the wealthy?

2. Dumb senatorial procedure question
Apparently the more I learn about congress, the less I know ...

How does a single senator, from the minority party at that, block a bill? Does he threaten a one-man filibuster (quake in fear!)?

Other than that, I have mixed feelings about the bill. This would seem to be a good benefit, but then why limit it to wounded veterans? Limiting health benefits to certain groups seems to be one more application of "divide and conquer".

:hi:
