Rice trying to squirm out of having to testify about Yellowcake Forgeries
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is resisting a U.S. House panel's demand that she testify tomorrow on why President George W. Bush said in a 2003 speech that Iraq sought uranium from Africa.

Waxman, in a letter to the State Department released late today, wrote that he has ``postponed the scheduled vote for a subpoena for your appearance before the committee from tomorrow to April 25.''

``I hope we can use this time to schedule your voluntary appearance,'' he wrote.

Waxman said in a March 12 letter that the panel still did not understand how the claim on uranium made it into the State of the Union address or what Rice, then Bush's national security adviser, knew about it.

The uranium claim was made two months before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and helped bolster the administration's contention that Saddam Hussein should be overthrown because he was trying to build nuclear weapons.

1. Another bush administration member not wanting to swear to tell the truth
What will actually be in that bush library? He's building a helluva legacy.

6. A Republican swearing on a bible to "tell the truth, the whole truth" etc. would be proof
of whether or not God exists ...

Either:

God exists: A lightning bolt vaporizes the Repuke on the spot at the conclusion of the swearing in ...

God doesn't exist: The Repuke lives to testify in front of Congress ...

Guess which seems more likely to occur ...

2. Love this part... "Explored"
The issue had been ``extensively explored in at least three separate and exhaustive investigations,'' the letter said. ``There would be little purpose in Secretary Rice testifying at a hearing on these issues.''

Yeah, "explored" and "investigated" as to how we can use it to dupe the public into sending their kids, siblings, moms, and dads to war.

3. Yeah, I know what you mean.
'Explored', sure, under a Republican Rubber-Stamp Congress.

Well, the Democrats are in charge now, I'll bet they'll look just a wee bit harder at what happened than the Republicans did.

5. They really got used to that free ride, didn't they?
When the Republicans were in charge, it was everything, all the time for the Bush administration. Do whatever you want to do, and nobody will say boo to a goose. Now, elections having consequences, it appears that for the first time in five years some people are checking their work, and do they not like it at all!

Tough toenails, Bushies. There's a new sheriff in town. Better get ready for a whole lotta oversight, instead of overlook.

7.  The past three months have seen a drop of arrogance from the WH.
Now, if we could just retire the word "bipartisanship."
