So, ah, when am I allowed to move in the house in a ritzier
neighborhood? Is it today (the 11th) or the 12th when all these bozos are going to be making a one way trip to their final destination? Should we be having them sign some sort of legal form that says when the rapture comes, we inherit their property even if their god sends them back? I already have designs on a cool house and a great car.

1. The only way to profit from this is the way I read here some people already have,
by selling the deluded pet care insurance. You do know that no matter how strongly they believe, these cultists aren't going anywhere?

3. How does that work?
Does one advertise to take care of their beloved pets after they've raptured, or what?

Why don't they just write a clause into the rapture that allows their pets to go with them? If they're playing make-believe they can make the rules up as they go.

8. There was a thread a few weeks ago describing the insurance.
Yes, a company is actually writing policies specifying either that non-believers are available or would be found to provide care. Don't know the details (OP didn't say). I also don't know if this is an add-on to a general pet insurance policy or if it's a stand-alone. And I don't know in which states such a policy is legal.

Now that I think about it, it strikes me that offering such insurance could be a good source of additional income for monetarily strapped animal shelters. A reputable shelter could make a credible claim for being able to place the "orphaned" pets. Of course it might not be good PR in areas where there are many mentally-competent people.

5. Yes, of course I know that!
I (and others) have been treating it like a joke for as far back as I remember. I just like to imagine their surprise when it doesn't happen.

I've even seen bumper stickers with comments like "if the rapture comes, i want your car." And of course the one: "in case of rapture, this car will be unmanned."

I personally have problems with some of these smug, arrogant idiots trying to create armageddon so they can "make it happen" in their lifetimes--something we must dutifully blame on assholes like Pat Robertson, the Haggards, the many other instigators and upstarts trying to make these stupid people believe in something so evil it boggles the mind.

But then, I really DID see a great house and car. So maybe it'll happen anyway! ;)

4. It's been postponed for two more years
They thought 11/11/11 was just more marketable.

I tried reading that site ( http://home.flash.net/~evt/rapture.htm ) before but it makes my brain hurt. Maybe they keep a tally of aborted raptures on there someplace, but be damned if I know.
