"Federal dollars are not used to fund abortion" --Barack Obama on an interview
snip I just saw.

Here's my criticism of him on a number of issues: Although he essentially sets the record straight, his delivery isn't strong enough. He almost presents in a conversational tone. We need him to say "NO Federal dollars are used to fund abortions! It's prohibited! It's explicit! Period!" Finger point jabbing. Fist on desk.

That's all. Just venting. I want to scream "bring it home, Barack - lay it on the line!"

:hi:

1. I don't want him to say that.
Why would I want him to emphatically gloat about discrimination against women being upheld, as if that's something to be proud of?

I want him to proclaim that he's going to work to overturn that piece of shit Hyde Amendment, so that women's health issues are treated the same as "normal" (i.e. male) people's health issues.

2. Overturning Hyde will never happen
The law is 33 years old now, almost as old as Roe v. Wade and was upheld by the USSC.

4. The laws against interracial marriage will never be overturned either. (nt)

6. Oh, it'll happen, just not right now.
And probably not before Obama's done being President, either.

3. It wasn't this particular issue that I reacted to -- just his way of not being
clear or strong enough when disputing untruths that are being lobbed about regarding various issues. This just happened to be the one they were showcasing on the show I was watching.

I certainly wasn't suggesting that he 'gloat about discrimination against women being upheld'. I'm with you on this one.

5. I'm perfectly comfortable with him being laid back about it.
For starters, it presents a great contrast to the crazy screamers. Second, it shows they're not getting to him. And third, his confidence permeates everything.
