Must see: Economic hitman tells that the US has been "hit"
http://www.democracynow.org/2009/11/10/hoodwinked_former_economic_hit_man_john

A quick clip that explains our current economic mess and the powers that got us here. From a former economic hitman.

You may know of him, maybe read his latest book, but this is a very quick clip and well worth viewing.

3. Ever since I read that he says he can turn into a lizard, I haven't found him credible
or was it a jaguar?

He claims to be a shape shifting shaman when he isn't an "economic hit man."

5. Maybe you should have read a read a little more deeply.
He's a guy who had a change of heart and has now adapted Shamanism as a way of life. After participating for so long in the destruction of the Earth, he finds it more appealing now to connect to it in a protective and spiritual way.

The other shape-shifters, the ones who drop bombs on innocenthuman beings and turn them into grotesque, unrecognizable objects, are the ones are the ones I'll reserve my disgust for.

7. It's one thing to say you took mushrooms in the Amazon and hallucinated ...
It's another to say you actually changed into a jaguar -- which is what he says.

Kind of undercuts all the other stuff.

9. You spend a lot of time I've noticed, attempting to discredit
people who inform the American people about their government.

I don't care what he believes. Catholics believe a man rose from the dead and we have hundreds of them in Congress and on the Supreme Court. That's as hard to imagine as anything else religious people choose to believe. And frankly I don't care what other people choose to believe as part of their various faiths.

In the name of faith, people choose to believe many strange things, which is fine with me.

I'm interested in what they have to say about their actual, real life experiences. Kerry is a Catholic eg, Kennedy, didn't make their stand on issues wrong, did it? Well, unless you're a rightwingnut.

10. Me? I think you may have replied to the wrong post.
I constantly, to my own detriment, try to inform people about our corrupt government. And I agree 100% that people in power believe things that should define them as loony.

12. Oops, sorry about that. The post was meant
for Hamden Rice who appears to feel that a person's religious and/or spiritual beliefs (well, ones s/he disagrees with) should negate anything else they have to say about the government they worked for.

Apologies again ~ :-)

and that the hallucinations were part of an alternate reality, Perkins seems to believe that he actually turns into a jaguar in this reality, which I find a stretch:

http://www.spiritofmaat.com/archive/aug1/johnperkins3.html
...
The first is cellular, and that is when a person of an indigenous culture shapeshifts into a plant or animal, or in our culture when a cancer grows in someone and then miraculously disappears.
...
I disagree. I have seen a lot of very significant cellular Shapeshifting around the world. There are lamas in Tibet who fly across mountains and melt snow with the heat of their bodies, and shamans in the Amazon who become jaguars, and people in this country who miraculously get cured of cancers. I think cellular Shapeshifting is very important, because when we cellular Shapeshift, we realize that we really are one with everything.

If you shape shift into a tree, for instance, you really feel that you truly are a part of that tree. It helps us integrate everything around us.

<end quote>

google john perkins shapeshifting

There are several articles, some quite outlandish.

He makes some pretty odd claims like being able to cure cancer by using a luminous ball of some sort.

The fellow has never impressed me very much. What comments and observation were of worth in his book are pretty much general knowledge, and available elsewhere, without the atmospherics....

18. I also have to add the observation that I knew and worked with people in the development bank sector
and never once heard the term, "economic hitman" though in interviews, he says it was a common term.

I haven't read the book because in interviews, it didn't ring true to me.

20. Are you saying he's not a Philip Agee type?
The evidence of his assertions is not deniable, if one is to claim reality their home.

The "ring true" is at hand, all around us - IMHO.
I think he's a whistle blower, myself, not a fake.

Philip Agee;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Agee
This whistle blower's assertions support the claims in the OP clip link.

21. I think he knew a lot about the sector but "sexed it up" to write a fictional best seller
I wouldn't be surprised if he sent it to his agent as fiction. There are really weird things in it that no one else who has knowledge of that sector agrees with.

For example he claims his handlers were from the NSA. But every other expose of the NSA clearly shows that the NSA is a "signals intelligence" organization (ie evesdropping, not economic sabotage -- hence the NSA warrantless wiretapping scandal) and that they have nothing to do with financial domination, which is done through the CIA.

That plus the term "economic hitman" and the changing into animals and plants in his other writing makes me doubt most of what he has to say.

22. Have we not had predatory capitalism for the last 30 years?
Have Corporations become too big to fail, and have the ability to disrupt and upset everything in this country?

Do Corporations recognize any borders?

Do Corporations run our government?

Do we have modern day Robber Barons raping and pillaging this country?

Was it a major error to give 'Personhood' to Corporations?

I do not care about the messenger, but the message seemed to ring a familiar bell. There has been something very rotten simmering in our government for the last 30 years that has reached the boiling point. If the truth were told, the CIA & NSA have their hands in it somewhere.

All politicians have lied or spun the truth at some point in their lives... So are we to never give them any credibility ever again, as well?

23. So it was a compelling piece of spy novel fiction based on real context
Edited on Tue Nov-10-09 02:08 PM by HamdenRice
but it was still a piece of fiction, imo.

On edit: I also don't think people can turn themselves into lizards "on a cellular level" and if someone says they can, like Perkins, there's a lot that person says I'm not going to believe.

24. If he puts chinks in the armour and pushes it closer to common knowledge...
Then I do not care if he thinks he's a lizard man.

Until enough people recognize what the problem is, nothing will be done about it.

25. "Then I do not care if he thinks he's a lizard man."
Okey Dokey.

But I guy I saw on the subway in tattered clothing was complaining about being eaten alive by invisible ants, and also about the CIA sending coded messages from satellites to his brain through his dental filings.

As much as I distrust the CIA, the stuff about invisible ants made me less likely to believe his story about CIA messages to his dental filings.

26. Precisely.
Great post.
Thanks.
I, for one, am extremely weary of the posters who discount the message
by attacking the messenger on irrelevant personal quirks.
Who cares what his gimmick is.

Is the guy trying to sell books? But of course.
Is what he identifies in the global economic order incorrect?
Absolutely NOT.

19. I agree, I saw that stuff. Goofy in my opinion. BUT...
again, Christians infest all positions of power with even higher degrees of lunacy. And they insist on cramming it down the throats of the rational after grabbing power.

This guy wants to escape this 'Salvidor Dali on acid' reality too. I can understand his change of psyche. It ain't for me, however.

Still, he has experience, knowledge, and information that is valid.

8. Yeah, he must've smoked something in Nepal
or Tibet, wherever it was. That puts me off too. But I think he has witnessed a lot and understands things in the real world too.

Look at all the people in power who think women came from a rib and animals walked off an ark? These people aren't seen as loons because their religion is predominant in this country. If you immerse yourself in another society, with different social mores, you might see these Christians as wacko and discredit all that they say as well.
