I remember not too long ago when Bush/Cheney had the
White House and the Republicans had Congress and how they got everything and anything they wanted passed, even bills for retroactive laws to cover illegal acts from the White House. And now I look at the circus concerning the Heath Care Bill and how unprogressive it likely will be after going through the Senate if it even makes it and even after getting so watered down in the House. How do Republicans do it? Different set of rules while in charge or Republicans in Democratic Party clothing?

1. What separates Republicans from the Democrats in Congress
A spine.

The Republicans are not afraid of being wrong -- even if it's being wrong 100%
Congressional Dems are afraid of being 0.000000007% wrong -- unless you throw millions of dollars at them

3. Don't forget ... the Repukes also had the "liberal media" on their side ...
what with the New York Times sitting on the illegal wiretapping story for years, only mentioning it well after the 2004 election, and so many people apparently knowing about Larry Craig's bathroom stall trolling for months (but only hours between Al Gore III's traffic stop and the pundits, liberal or otherwise, making it the joke of the day ...)

4. sadly, money is a very influential tool in our country. people want wealth, & too many politicians
are willing to take it even when they have a D by their name. We know nearly all the R's will take it, so when just a few D's do - we get screwed. How frustrating. We gotta keep getting people like Al Franken elected.

5. Republicans have no moral compass and are easily swayed by political money
Republicans quickly get on the receiving end of money from big oil companies and defense contractors. They do what they are told by the shadow entities with the money bags

6. It's not spine on the part of the Pukes
They are mostly sheep who will vote in lockstep to whatever the whip demands. And yes they have control of media and can paint a picture however they want to.

7. They may behave and believe like sheep, but in government, they are wolves
and we are the sheep when it comes to power.
