5. apparently it's so new no one's spent 3 months wading through it.
http://docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf

first thing i noticed in a quick browse (lol) = they're using the fraud of "productivity increases" to limit medicare & other reimbursements.

7. I've gotten through the first 32 pages and right away
I noticed that they talk about how this will limit and make manageable the spending on health care costs. (Page Two I think it was.)

But since they have structured all the payments on the exorbitant assigned costs already in effect, it won't do a thing about that.

10. sites like this could actually do a public service by dividing these monstrosities up, having
inividuals take a section & translate it into plain language.

i noticed this section, for example:

INCORPORATING PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENTS INTO MARKET BASKET UPDATES THAT DO NOT ALREADY INCORPORATE SUCH IMPROVEMENTS.

which, per cbo, means this:

"The bill would put into effect (or leave in effect) a number of procedures that might be difficult tomaintain over a long period of time. It would leave in place the 21 percent reduction in the payment rates for physicians currently scheduled for 2010.

At the same time, the bill includes a number of provisions that would constrain payment rates for other providers of Medicare services.

In particular, increases in payment rates for many providers would be held BELOW THE RATE OF INFLATION (IN EXPECTATION OF ONGOING PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENTS IN THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH CARE)."

http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/106xx/doc10688/hr3962Rangel.pdf.

I read this as:

1. defunding medicare
2. reductions in medical personnel

am i wrong?

On how by making "improvements" to the Medicare scheme of things, the costs can be constrained.

It is really a piece of crap bill. I have not felt this irritated, angry or annoyed since about March 15th 2003 when I realized that all the letter writing, parade attending, peace sign holding that I had done had acomplished (Along with the millions of others beside me) A BIG FAT NOTHING. And that Iraq would be under Shock and Awe in just days.

16. i had the same experience. spent a year standing on the street every weekend,
organizing a teach-in, putting out flyers, letter-writing, hosting speakers who'd been to iraq-

not to mention getting screamed at and flipped off by flag-wavers - and nearly run over once -

no results except i met one nice conservative catholic whose son was in the service.

3 more years of having to endure "liberal" & clinton jokes in the cafeteria before the reactionary "professionals" i work with started catching on to what a disaster bush was.

a year of solid work, hundreds of dollars spent, no results. i hear ya.

We were right about everything, & still the sick fucks won't admit it. and we're still there.

27. I deeply appreciate that so many people were out there fighting the good cause.
Sorry to hear that you had life endangering experiences. I lived in Marin at that time, and those activities, though laudable, were really preaching to the choir.

8. LOL You have a very strange aversion to reading this thing yourself
So much so that you are going to listen to a christian home schooler conservative who isn't even reading the correct version of the bill.

On top of that this guy thinks its going to take him weeks to read it. LOL

I've read kindergarten books with more words per page than this bill. If it were really utilizing the pages as a normal book did I doubt this thing would be 80 pages.

22. actually it is going to be in the senate bill, not this one. It was a deal brokered with
the christian science church. They cure people with prayer instead of doctors......
authored by JOhn Kerry. I'm sure it was about campaign money or something like that. The church is headquartered in Boston, but of course it will be avialable to all churches.
