I had a job interview today.
Well, five of them to be precise, in a four hour marathon session. After nearly a year of unemployment, with any luck I won't be a statistic at this time next month.

2. They were all at the same company :-)
Sorry, that might not have been clear in the post. First interview I've gotten in eight months of searching.

3. Wow! Talk about a stressful day...
But, with five, you stand an excellent chance. They wouldn't have interviewed you if they weren't interested to begin with. Best of luck to you and let us know how it turns out... :fistbump:

5. Well, they obviously are interested in you or they wouldn't be seeing where you would be the best
fit within the same company

6. All of the interviews were for the same position.
This seems to be the new thing - bombarding people with interviews until they want to puke. Maybe it's some kind of endurance test.

10. That is the way they do it out here in California for tech companies, and then compare notes

among themselves. It is not an easy process, but they want to make sure you are a good match and get along with everyone, because most likely you will be working in a team environment.

Oh, by the way, if you were interviewed by five different people, that also means that each one of the interviewers were interested enough in you to pass you to their other associate.

They also have another "technique" which they call the gauntlet. That, is bad. In fact, I won't work for a company that uses that process. With the gauntlet you are placed in the same room with other people competing for the same job, and questions are thrown at all the applicants in front of each other. The questions also play one candidate against another. It is garbage, and in my view the type of candidates that get through that do not necessarily have the most ethical standards

11. I've never heard of "the gauntlet" before but it sounds like a total waste of time.
Reality TV stuff. Sheesh.

12. The company you applied for must have liked you, or that many people would not have seen you
All the best to you. I hope you get the job, and you like it

7. Best of luck
There are so many here looking for work - hope everyone (including YOU) checks back in once employment is secured. Thank God unemployment benefits were extended.
