Our whole economy is being organized to take the wealth of the nation and send it to top.
http://www.democracynow.org/2009/11/9/house_passes_healthcare_bill_with_amendment

<snip> Dennis Kucinich:Our whole economy is being organized in a way that takes the wealth of the nation and sends it right to the top. And this health care bill is no different. And we’ve got to fight back, and that’s why I could not vote for this. If we were able to get a single payer—to protect the right of states to have a single-payer plan, maybe the bill would have been worth voting for. But that was taken out. So what are we left with? Private, for-profit health insurance, with the government subsidizing it.

---hmmmm so we are subsidizing the millionaire sociopaths. I guess the over 200 congress critters who are millionaires really know how to fuck us so that we don't even know we been fucked.

<snip> Dennis Kucinich:Well, my amendment passed in the Education and Labor Committee, and it would have protected the right of states to pursue single payer by granting states a waiver from what is known as the Employment Retirement Income Security Act, which is currently being used in court by the insurance company to attack single-payer initiatives. My amendment passed the committee. It was taken out of the bill at the behest of the administration.

---"at the behest of the administration" hmmmm interesting

Oh thank you so much Obama for the change. BTW what fucking change is that? Looks like business as usual with the millionaire crowd.

---Then the pip squeek from S. Carolina speaks up:

<snip> SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM: The House bill is dead on arrival in the Senate. Just look at how it passed. It passed 220-to-215. It passed by two votes. You had forty Dem—thirty-nine Democrats vote against the bill. They come from red states, moderate Democrats from swing districts. They bailed out on this bill. It was a bill written by liberals for liberals. And people like Joe Lieberman are not going to get anywhere near the House bill. It cuts Medicare about $500 billion. It’s over a trillion dollars in new spending. It does have the public option. So the House bill is a nonstarter in the Senate.

--- Ahh ...a true rarity ..a repuke who says it like it is. I still hate that fucking Lieberman ass kissing punk!

The bottom line is this ...they put poison pills in this bill to make sure it won't pass the senate. But hell yea ...go on keep attacking Dennis. I am beginning to wonder why I ever bothered to register as a Dem. It apparently makes no difference who you vote for because all these assholes are millionaires and they only care about millionaires and when Dennis speaks up the Dinos, Blue dicks, DLC and center right leaning assholes are always feeding at the fucking corporate pig trough.

5. is being organized?
This has been the reality since the early 70's. It is called consumerism, and Kucinich is just getting worried about it?

7. Sheesh ....
What a flimsy Strawman THAT is ....

Yeah ... he just got worried about it last Tuesday ... around 3:20 PM ....

Criminy .....

BTW: Theft isn't Consumerism ... when laws are passed and rules are instituted that favor the rich over the poor, time and time again ..... Well; eventually, it is going to have an impact .... even the most right wing libertarian will admit the movement of wealth upwards under such conditions ....

I think it is clear to everyone that the rules of the game have been heavily slanted toward the rich, even recently .... enough so to make your cheap attack on Kucinich seem petty and personal ...

31. This is called speaking in preent tense.
our whole economy is being organized in a way that takes the wealth of the nation and sends it right to the top.

The conversion to Consumerism began under FDR and was completed under Nixon. Our whole economy is organized around it. Consumerism, the process of devising the entire economy so money is taken from the poor and middle class and put in the hands of the Wealthy and investor class, is exaclty what is going on. As for laws favoring the rich, that has been the policy at lest back to the late 1800's with Social Darwinism.

12. every industrialized nation on this planet has a form of public insurance
some plans are not as good as others but the main supplier of health care payments is the government. the usa is the only country that relies on private insurance to supply the majority of health care decisions and payments. no other industrialized country has 40 million uninsured citizens.

wait till the senate version get sliced and diced and by the time the president gets the bill....well we`ll have to wait and see.

13. I have come to the conclusion that almost all of our so called elected reps
need to be thrown out on the street.
My reps, the supposedly "Liberal" group, Boxer, Fienstien and Lofgren are supposed to be the go to reps. They have been in power forever and what have they done for us? They have aided and abetted our corporate masters and, although they are more subtle, we are heading down a path to our destruction under their watch. These people, the so called progressives, have been in power for generations while we have watched this country slip into the dark ages. They have been at the helm. Elected over and over again. We have stood by while they let us slip further into the Abyss. No more from me. I will sit out the next election.

Apparently it will have to get even worse before the people say enough.

Fine. So be it.

I'm prepared to live with that but I will not waste my time voting for another useless so called Dem re-tread, corporate whore.

You will see mass starvation and hordes of indigent Murkans before that happens. It will happen but it'll be 10-30 years depending on how long we can keep this charade going. And by then there will be a new world power and the leeches will have moved on.

18. Pyramid schemes require an ever expanding base or else they collapse.
Edited on Tue Nov-10-09 02:06 AM by Electric Monk
Pyramania - Alan Parsons Project, 1978

There are pyramids in my head
There's one underneath my bed
And my lady's getting cranky
Every possible location
Has a simple explanation
And it isn't hanky-panky

I had read
Somewhere in a book, they improve all your food and your wine
It's said, that everything you grow in your garden would taste pretty fine
Instead, all I ever get is a pain in the neck and a
Yap yap yap yap yap yap yap

I've consulted all the sages
I could find in the yellow pages
But there aren't many of them
And the mayan panoramas
On my pyramid pajamas
Haven't helped my little problem
I've been told
Someone in the know can be sure that his luck is as
Good as gold, money in the bank and you don't even pay for it
If you fold, a dollar bill in the shape of the pyramid that's printed on the

24. Correction,
Get the tense right:

Not "is being" but "has been". This happened a very long time ago. They may or may not be enhancing it slightly at this time, but the general direction of wealth flowing toward the top was established well before the industrial revolution.

28. true
most schools don't teach "plebe" history. If they did, students would know how much struggle, deaths it took for decent wages, safe working environment and other labor rights. Then, the elite, or at the time "the robber barons," decided that it may be good, for safety sake, to give the plebes a little something. But many have struggled for every right we have today--and those rights that have taken years to gain, can be taken away with a stroke of a pen.

It's funny, I just watched a documentary on Caligula--one of the most cold blooded psychopathic personalities in history. One thing that struck me, is after he became emperor, he gave to the plebes over one billion gold coins. Why? He needed them to maintain control, needed them for adulation. Of course, that changed over a period of time. While watching, I thought how the money probably affected the masses. Wouldn't it have stimulated their economy by providing buying power for those that needed it most. Anyway, I found it interesting that he had the foresight to assuage the masses.

29. Our whole economy has always been organized to distribute wealth upward.
That's capitalism. It's the status quo in health insurance, too.

The issue here is whether, given that, the government will take some of the wealth from the wealthy (through progressive taxation) so that all Americans will be able to afford health insurance. That's a good thing; it's a step forward. Not as good as destroying the private insurance industry, true, but you take what you can get.

THAT is the REALLY maddening and obvious point that people do not seem to grasp.
I firmly believe a deal was cut in the back room.
Let the Dems take the blame- check.
Both side of the aisle will see personal profits from their corporate masters- check.
The people, once again, will be screwed- check.

I have no more questions.
