Stupak Amendment will abort the Health Care Bill, Democrats and The Country
Poll upon poll has said that the majority of the Country, while not overwhelming FOR abortion, favors the right to choose. Even in the Catholic Religion "conscience" is supposed to be focused upon as a strength in setting apart humans from others. In the old days, that meant it is upon each one of us as individuals and never was an issue of mass stoning, killings or flaggings. That of course now has new meaning with the current Pope, who for all practical purposes could well be residing at C Street.

What the Stupak Amendment will do is favor the rich. The middle class and the poor will just have to grunt and bear it having their decisions made for them. Thank goodness they are making designer Burkas now.....

So "Jane", just for the sake of an example, says she needs an abortion because she was raped. The man, we will call him "John", fearing legal consequences, denies this charge. So Jane and John have to go to Court to prove this. This of course takes months. Now Jane is 5 moths pregnant and is not allowed a late term abortion. She has to just put up with it. Oh, of course with the help of the "Church".

Say Jane needed an abortion because she felt that she mentally, financially and emotionally could not handle it. She also abused drugs on top of it and is pretty certain the child will be damaged. She made mistakes, ok. but wants some time in her life to sort it all out, clean up and go to school. But now she has to go to another Country to get an abortion that she can afford. A new law might come into being that will track her medical records which will not allow her insurance because she had an abortion, even though it was outside the Country. Let alone if she can even afford to leave the Country.

And you environmentalists.... kiss the planet good-by. We are already too crowded and killing off everything. You will no longer be able to deal with the additional chaos from the mass of unwanted babies coming into the world and greater devastation to resources.
And kiss the prospect of Birth Control good-by also because they think it is an abortion. So maybe you should grab that shovel and help with mountain-top removal for coal.

This bill is a poison pill. A time-bomb.It will leach into our very fiber of what holds this Country together. It will rip us apart with no end in sight because it is a monster bolting from Pandora's box

No longer, Obama and the rest of you Dems, can you sit on your overpaid lard-asses about this. You are toast if you compromise. The women of this Country are toast. Separation of Church and State are toast. History. Kiss it good-by. The Republican Religious extremists are laughing, peeing their pants and clapping their greedy hands in glee, even though they are the "Minority" and they are taking a few tunnel visioned Dems with them.

You are ass stupid. All of this coming from a woman too old to have children and who should not care. But I do.

1. I like what President Obama said...
this is not about abortion. It is about affordable health care (in so many words). I was happy about the HRC passing the house (kind of like being constipated for 40 years and passing a giant turd, but it passed against great odds none the less). At the same time, I was also devastated by the Stupak Amendment but remained confident it will be stripped from the final bill. If that does not happen, I wholeheartedly agree with that this bill cannot pass until that atrocity is removed. If it does pass, I will still vote Democrat as my reps did the right thing, but if that weren't the case, I'd sit on my hands rather than vote for one of the blue dogs responsible for this fuckery.

4. What I am saying is in the context of age, there will be some who really do not think about this.
Some who will not put themselves into other's shoes.( Like some of the men)
I am stating something about myself. I am older. I do not think about "will I or won't I get preggo, should I or shouldn't I".
It is from that perspective that I state what I do. I actually was never able to have children but that has never stopped me from trying to see things from other's perspectives.
And no, I am not a whacked out person. Unless you call an environmentalist and community organizer that.

6. No, your whole post is an exercise in negativity.
Lots of people dig that, but I don't.

I had an abortion when I was young, got infected by an IUD, got cancer, never could have kids either. I see things from many perspectives, too, but they are not all negative, as is this post.

8. I was using sarcasm and exaggeration as well as fact to make a point my dear
Sorry about your personal trials that you had to go through but I am sure it made you a "stronger person" and did not hang you up, right? I too had an IUD infection, a rape, a miscarriage... and on and on. All these things made me stronger and not a slave to the emotional chains of them.

I don't even understand your words wrt this post. Is it about you, this, what might happen, what will happen, your desire of what could happen? Because nothing is a done deal yet.

The Stupak amendment will hopefully never make it anywhere; that's my take on it, and I also don't like to borrow trouble, unlike yourself.

As for my personal troubles, those were the old ones. I have a whole new set of them, but I'm getting along in life by being an optimistic person. Sad, sure, but I'm working on what's important.

14.  you really did not understand my comments.....BTW... sorry you are having a rough time.
I do feel that if you feel that way about people's choice of writing style, you could go along the list of posts and add your comments and observations there also. I stand by my comments of this introduction of this Bill to be a slippery slope particularly concerning legal matters and many abortion and life issues will end up in the Court system.

3. If You Listened to Rachel
Maddow she tells us who and why they pushed this bill. Stupak is a member of the notorious C Street House in a group called the Family.

It includes
Stupak Democrat MI
Pitt Republican PA

These two were co-sponsors

Zach Wamp Republican TN
Tom Coburn Republican OK
Mike Doyle Democrat PA
John Ensign Republican NV
Heath Shuler Democrat NC
Jim Inhofe Republican OK
Sam Brownback Republican
Dim DeMint Republican
Mark Sanford Republican SC

There are more but these are those that are know. Pitts from Pennsylvania and the rest of the republicans have been pushing for an abortion bill for ages. I can't understand why this was so important. The federal government prohibits using federal money for abortions. But as Rachel and the representative don't remember her name said. If this goes thru in the bill it means that no money none at all from any insurance can be used for abortion. Even from companies and employers who pay their own insurance. The amendment is worded that anyone in the Public Option even if they use their own money can not be covered by insurance for abortion.

If you have never read anything about the Religious Group "The Family" you ought to go to google and search it. I read a lot some time ago when George H. W. Bush was involved. The have a headquarters in Virginia in a mansion called "The Cedars". It is good reading and will surprise you.
