Big Dog headed to the Hill tomorrow - talking to Senate Dem Caucus on Health Care Reform
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 07:50 PM by Pirate Smile
Bill Clinton heads for the Hill
Ex-president to address Dems

As President Obama’s plans to overhaul the health care system hinge on the Senate, former President Bill Clinton is headed to the Hill.

Clinton, the last Democratic president to attempt health care reform, will address Senate Democrats at their weekly caucus meeting Tuesday at 1:45 p.m, a senior Democratic aide said.

The aide did not know if Clinton will speak specifically on health care, but it is hard to imagine the topic would not come up given his legendary, failed, effort to reform the system in 1994 and the top spot the issue occupies on the Senate’s agenda.

Last month Clinton’s wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, addressed the caucus’ weekly lunch to discuss foreign policy issues.

UPDATE: Clinton will be talking to the Democrats about health care, a source close to the former president said. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asked Clinton to address the caucus, the source said.

7. Since he was jello with Obama, why in the world do you think it will be any different
with the Senate?

He's just DLC, and the people's needs don't matter.

Congrats on attacking which makes no sense whatsoever.

Just like the RW... don't respond to the issue, attack the person.

12. Obama sent him up there to do something. He's going to do what the President asked him to do.
What you're saying is he's gonna go up there and do is give DLC advice. AND THAT ISN'T THE CASE...which is why your comments make no dayum sense.

You're also basicall saying that Obama can't handle Clinton. Which is fucking stupid.

Basically I'm telling you that your post doesn't make sense and you're taking the victim route instead of looking at reality. That's not attacking you...you take shit way to personally.

It is attacking your silly argument or statement "He's just DLC, and the people's needs don't matter."

What I said and did wasn't RW anyone can see that you are playing the victim with your comments and being defeatist.

13. I'm sure it doesn't make sense to YOU, because you don't give too much of a rip
about the needs of the PEOPLE....its all about your hero.

So, if I'm so wrong.. who do you think he took to task... the blue doggies or the liberals?

Oh, that's right... what I say makes no dayum sense, so you wouldn't be able to reply to that.

Just like the RW... you can't refute what I'm saying, so you try to cause hurt to get another to back down. Great strategery.........

6. Unless he convinces them that extending Medicare to all as an option is the
way to go and to make history, it's an empty gesture and no help to those who would bring us real health care reform.

11. Shhhhhhh........
The DLC is the loud voice of DU now, and loves to attack the person, rather than the issues.

The Clintons split the Dem party, and did the damage of which you speak.

Obama is perpetuating it.

I don't see how the party can ever recover.

Now watch the attacks......
