More misogyny: Women not getting justice for sexual assault.
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 06:46 PM by Ilsa
CBS is running a report about rape kits not getting tested to prosecute rapists. Rapes only get a 25% prosecution, vs 75% for murder, etc.

LOS ANGELES—An audit says Los Angeles police have significantly reduced a backlog of DNA evidence from thousands of rape and sexual assault cases.
Controller Wendy Greuel (Grool) said Thursday that the number of untested evidence kits has dropped by 64 percent, from about 7,000 to around 2,500.

However, her audit says more precautions should be taken to prevent future backlogs.

2. Can't wait for the men's rights advocates to chime in.
They'll tell you that domestic abuse or rape is over-reported and the justice system favors women.

4. k and r
I saw the report. If there was the Political Will, rape could be reduced dramatically.

Looks like NYC was doing a good job of catching the rapists.

I'm surprised that a woman hasn't sued a city for not submitting her rape kit. Hell...if it was a serial rapist that was eventually caught, you could dozens of women suing.

Hit them where it hurts....seems to be the pocketbook. Then running a rape kit for $1,500 isn't that expensive.

Just where are these labs? And why aren't we training people to work in these labs? 10% unemployment and there is a backlog of rape kits....makes too much sense probably.
