Fox news said it. It must be true.
I had company at my house yesterday and one of them said with dismay that Fox is reporting that Christmas music is not being allowed on the radio right now because it's not PC or something. (This must be this year's Bill O'Liely Don't-Say-Merry-Christmas BS) The guest was flustered that this could be happening. She said that this now makes sense because it's usually on this time of year.

MUST. NOT. REACT. MUST. HOLD. BACK. MUST. NOT. MAKE. FOX. COMMENTARY...

I behaved myself and did not get into it. Has anyone heard this new mantra?

2. Well, if they protest loud enough, I'm sure it will be on the air by Thanksgiving.

3. How about it being inappropriate because it isn't the Christmas season yet?
Just because Christmas trees are up at dept stores it doesn't mean we need to be hearing xmas music already. It's definitely too early for me, pc or not.

5. It usually starts the week of Thanksgiving.
Not to put too fine a point on it.

But then again, what does reality have to do with Faux news?

7. I hear bits and pieces of jingles on the radio - mainly commercials
For upcoming holiday events. I think most stations actually control themselves until after Thanksgiving.

Tell your friend though that I was out in the yard in the middle of October, and it was 50 degrees out, and an ice cream truck went by, and it was playing, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Maybe that will make her feel better.

13. Unfortunately, I have only one speed.
Wouldn't have made for a good visit if I went on my full throttle re-programming rampage.

This was another unfortunate example of a basically very decent, above-average intelligence, hard-working mom who has no understanding of the level of deceptive editorializing that Faux news represents. It's frightening to think how many people they dupe.

12. Playing Christmas music for the unemployed is rubbing salt in their wounds.
Actually I don't think you normally hear that much Christmas music the first week of November.
