Melting ice caps or wobble of axis?

I didn't see the entire program, but that 2012 Syfy channel special, seemed to infer something about the polar ice caps, perhaps that the ice caps melting or shifting might be more about the Chandler Wobble effect of the earth's axis. I think Global Warming is definitely real, but the ice shifting, maybe it's not just speculation...maybe.. some serious upcoming axis shifts? Thoughts? Or maybe, it was late and I simply dreamed it. I was doing some serious nodding-off!

2. I caught part of a Syfy on 2012 last night..made me.giggle

People planning on living underground for ten years in abandoned silos because a catastrophe is going to make life on the surface unlivable. However they had their supply of "Forever Stamps".

Obviously they are not deep thinkers.

On another note we missed another rapture because the rapturists had predicted that if the stock market crashed today the rapture would occur on the 11th. Stock market, Oil and Gold are all still up.

3. I have heard of this.

I think I read somewhere that the northern lights are seen mostly in Russia now, too, and not so much in Alaska. Of course, they could have been fleeing from Sarah Palin for all I know.

not necessarily about the subject at hand, but something happening.

4. sorry.. it would only effect one pole if that were true.

the wobble would point one pole more toward the sun and point the other away.


and it is a 26,000 year cycle so this happening in 100 years of less is much quicker that the wobble can account for
