Ladies and gentleman, I come before you to address a grave issue which affects us all. A grave issue which we have left unchecked and unnoticed. We've been distracted by the debacle in Afghanistan, the questionable recovery of the US economy and financial system, and the high stakes debate surrounding health care debate, but we cannot afford to ignore this rapidly growing problem. I am talking of course about none other than the rampant +1 hyper1nflat1on that has overtaken this great website

+1 has long been understand by the internet community to mean "A post in a forum/message board that indicates the person agrees with a previous or quoted reply to a thread" (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=%2B1)

It was a simple way to quickly communicate that you strongly concured with the statements or arguments made in a post, implying that that poster succinctly and intelligently articulated your point of view ... or just said something fucking hilarious that warrants some bonus points.

for months we were content and happy with +1, but then some posters got greedy... soon we saw +2, +3 etc and not longer after +10. We let ourselves believe this problem would go away and resolve itself but we have been fools. We are now plagued with +1000, +10000, +100,000 etc ... today I saw the unspeakable ... a +100,000,000. This has lead to me to conclude that we have entered into a Hyper1nflat1on.

Now I'm sure many of you are saying, "I'll use whatever integer I damn well please!" Well let me remind you of the hyperinflation of the Weimar Republic which crushed the german people and contributed to the rise of Nazism, WW2, Holocaust and over a dozen albums by David Hasselhoff.

So next time you get the itch to use any integer greater than 1 to demonstrate you're in accord with another poster, just remember, that's exactly what Hitler wants.

I have myself, although I am ashamed to admit it, used "+1,000" and even -yes, I'll admit it- "+10,000".

But I am already seeking help, I just want you to know that. As a way of adjusting, I am removing excess "0s" from my life. For example, I am removing the zeroes from my phone number, my address, and more importantly, my weight.
