Rec if you have NOT read the Health Care Bill and wonder if any Congressperson has.
I see these threads about rec this or rec that.
Who has even read the thing? I doubt anyone in Congress has.

How many Congress critters would you think have read the bill before their vote?

1. Some of them probably have. Most of them probably just get briefings from their staff.
They might get an executive summary or something. Most of the 2000 pages is just legal mumbo jumbo.

2. I think for sure that none of the Republicans and most of the Blue Dogs
haven't because their nonsensical arguments against it in the debate attacked single payer insurance, not the corporate insurance kiss that was the bill brought to the floor.

3. None of them, they have people to do the hard work for them.
Only the citizens are expected to decipher 2000 pages of corp/legal speak in a couple days.

5. They generally do not read any of the bills that come before them.
They have staffers that do and give them the cliff notes.

7. My point. They don't even know what they vote for! Yet everyone has an opinion.
I'd like to meet one person with an opinion who has read it!

6. The politicians were too busy negotiating their payoffs from the lobbyists to read it.
