Lindsey Graham: Health bill 'written by liberals, for liberals.'

Health care legislation passed late Saturday night in the U.S. House of Representatives “is dead on arrival in the Senate,” U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday.

Graham, a South Carolina Republican, also said t he rejects the notion that the massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, last week reflects on Muslims.

The health care bill narrowly made it through the House, 220-215, Graham noted on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” and 39 moderate Democrats voted against it.

“They (the moderates) bailed out on this bill,” he said. “It was a bill written by liberals, for liberals.”

The bill also has a public option, which makes it “a nonstarter in the Senate,” Graham said. He repeated his position that a public option “would destroy private health care.”

2. Duh! Throughout history, everything good was written/accomplished by liberals.
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 01:14 PM by JaneQPublic
Our founding fathers were the liberals of their time when they called for revolution.

Lincoln was a liberal in his time when he signed the Amancapation Proclamation.

All the officeholders who helped pass the amendment that gave women the right to vote were the liberals of their time.

The elected officials who voted for Social Security, Civil Rights legislation, and Medicare were all the liberal of their time.

Conservatives throughout the ages, like Sen. Graham, have accomplished nothing except to spread lies, doubt, economic downturns, and hate.

4. If only that were true. BUT since he brings it up
why not have 2 plans - the Republican plan which is open to any registered Republican or Independent and the Democratic plan which is open to any Registered Democrat or Independent.

This is a contest I would LOVE to hold. Which plan would have more sign-ups?
