Help! Friend's forum seized by GW Deniers, Freepers!

I have to beg for help on this fine forum from DUers who know that we must spread the wealth of our knowledge, perceptions and wisdom.

Recently, a very friendly forum/message board has been over-run by Freepers of all strips. For years it has mostly been a very friendly (no registration required) forum for folks who've known each other for years. We've always had those who dis Democrats, global climate change, etc. I've got to ask you all who are versed in the arts of persuasion to help my friend, Mr Bopp (the owner/moderator) who gave me permission to ask you to join his forum and try to shed some of your wonderful stuff there.

If you have a bit of spare time, it would be a great service to add your thoughts and comments to those readers there who are now not sure how the real world works. I trust that you will do this with usual grace and sincerity without going ballistic when you see the low levels to which the Freepers stoop as they troll/flame us all.

The first priority is to set the Global warming deniers straight away by giving them some pertinent info and/or generally rebutting their rabid posts with the http://earthboppin.net/talkshop/national/truth.

(Mostly about astronomy but there's a 24/7 "paid to post" guy "JTRIV" that is nonstop denial but well read on scientific (or he probably reads "junkscience.com" and all the other paid for blogs by Exxonmobil.). I've argued the science with him for years to no avail. He will piss you off but be aware that climate change deniers want to do that so speak to his wider audience. That is how we must get the message across beyond the mega bucks now being poured into these astroturfers who seem to now be dominating many forums on this subject. Mr bopp told me that anybody who can pin him down on his diatribes and bust him wide open are most welcome there.

If you go the main menu, you'll see what's happening to the "National Board" which is mostly dominated by Freepers now and drive by shooters who hate Democrats with a vengeance which has totally left me out in the cold.

I hope, pray that my fellow Duers here realize that this message is meant to add to our wealth of holistic knowledge which we must share and spread. In that light, I welcome your comments, suggestions, etc.

Also, remember that no registration is required. It's a totally free forum so post away with all your might and bring these poor folks back into the light! Thanks ahead fellow Duers for your help. This fellow is one of the best guys you'd ever hope to meet and well worth the small effort and time.

how I luv y'all! I knew I could count on you but please visit that realm and post what you know and love. Mr bopp is a new age guy who did this forum as a favor to all of us oldtimers from another board that shut down - no money in it for him. Sad to see it being taken over by the Freepers.

Please post on the National board about what Democrats do and how they do it so they know we are alive and well with good intent. Gotta spread the wealth!!:kick: :kick:

5. I hate it when this happens to forums

My favorite hobby forum has about 5 freeps that dump their shrill poison multiple times a day. They are the only one's who START political threads.

But I won't post the name here (but I have been tempted when it gets hilarious). I don't think it would be a good thing to bring in ringers who have no real interest in the board's real purpose. A few liberal voices are enough to keep these fools humilaited - not that they realize it.

when the intent is good. We've got a collective message to get out there and I intend to do just that.
High time to get proactive on many forums, spread the wealth from here to there.

I was really hesitant to post my request but am still hoping we get about a thouand folks from this forum who can spread their wisdom.

The war here in realtime is with hearts/minds/souls. We must fight them gently with our kind words, our realizations, our oneness to make whole and heal what is wounded.

Please do post a message about that forum. I really think we need to do more of this. It's called "reaching out"!

that forum has a probable total of 200 souls give or take but with your help, we can make a difference so do chime in since it's so easy to just go there and post.

BTW, if you really get into a flame war with the freepers, there's another board for flame wars called appropriately enough "Let it all hang out" and they do!
Figured I'd better warn you since mr bopp doesn't allow full flames. As he said to me this am, "bring it on"!

10. I understand how frustrating this can be.

I maintained an enviro site for a while that was swamped by Freeper morans. I eventually stopped posting because I got busy with school work (the nice thing about being a Freeper living in mom's basement is they have all the time in the world for trolling :eyes:). I had many posts about abortion on mine, which while I am pro-choice, had nothing to do with the theme of the site and were baffling.

it'as a very easy fix really, just a few Duers there will at least set the record straight. So many lies!

Nice thing is that it's a very easy forum to follow so it doesn't take much time to pop in and figure it out. Esp. since you don't have to register.

15. Write to the administrator of their forum threatening FBI action, citing 'online terrorism'

If that won't work, use whois.net, an IP tracing website, to find their home address and PM them the information. One by one, they'll spread the info around you're serious and quit. Or you can do what I did when 'somethingawful.com' was attacking one of my friends' websites the same way and reported them personally to the local FBI with a package depicting their website breaking the law ;) funny how quickly their rules list was revamped a few weeks afterwards very similar to what I accused them of with a burned CD and documentation of evidence against them.

If you can find on their website evidence they may have, or are, breaking the law, report them to the FBI...anonymously, of course ;)

17. they aren't really bad, just - well you know how freepers are

opinionated, etc. Problem is many of them have been posting on that forum for years and most are pretty congenial. It's the few who spin the truth ad infinitum. Can't arrest 'em for that but it's getting really unbalanced lately.

phew, that would be a good way but I am totally sincere in asking for a bit of help, especially with the global warming deniers. They are winning hearts and souls over to their side and I don't think the world needs that right now.
