1. So will the Soviet tanks be arriving in the morning?
Hopefully it will be soon and they will take the wingnuts first.

2. Socialist?
Uh, better check your dictionary again.

Mandatory payments to a private corporation, enforced by law under penalty of imprisonment or ridiculously inappropriate fine - that's not socialism.

It is fascism. :scared:

16. Not only that, it flies to the face of an unconstitutional mandate
and will likely to end up removed from the bill.

I'm already on socialist gummit-run health care, so it doesn't affect me.

3. that would have been nice but all I saw was capitulation to insurance companies
and the status quo being re invigorated, only now we are forced to buy the mother fucking insurance from the scumbag health insurance companies.
Im sure they are popping champagne corks.
This is not the european model. this is the 'giveaway to rich fatcats model.'
thats not socialism.

15. Have you ever heard of the right wing, the teabaggers or the freepers?
I believe the OP was mocking them.

That's what they are saying right now. Sometimes it helps to listen to the other side. If you don't then you won't realize what we are up against.

7. One step at a time
we get closer to the civilized world and take, at the same time, a small step away from fascism.

Viva socialismo!

17. The entire reform is almost a complete rejection of socialism
It essentially institutionalizes private ownership (and profit) in health insurance, any way you cut it. The Democrats did about everything they could to both "reform" health care and preserve private ownership. Having the government subsidize some percentage of the private market transactions, which they mandate, couldn't be further from socialism. This mechanism will siphon public monies to private shareholders while insuring people.

Only the miniscule public option will fit the definition of "socialism", although it is yet to be seen if it is designed to fail on a "level" playing field
