Did they not notice that 9/11 happened on Bush's watch? It's like me saying, "Yeah, after that one time when my alcoholic father got drunk, beat the living shit out of me and put me in the hospital, he has never hit me since."

Some people will go to great lengths to lie to themselves. It's really pathetic.

1. He did keep us safe...
by not paying for another attack! You do have to give him credit for not deciding to do it again.

2. They just stopped the clock at 9-11-01
and start recounting from there. If it doesn't fit with your plan, just ignore it ever happened.

3. it's another one of those things that fall apart when you actually start the
thinking process ... as soon as you tell them that Clinton kept us safe longer, then they start adding out-of-country stuff ... and thus falls apart Bush's "keeping the U.S. safe" ...

4. Simple... they figure people mistake coincidence for causation
It's the same way President Obama has saved us from deadly cat5 hurricanes this year on the east coast.

There hasn't been one... he's been president... therefore it's because of Obama.

6. The CO at Fort Hood has kept the base safe since last Thursday.
Nobody has died at their desk at my old job since 2005. Nobody has had their neck broken at my other old job since 2006.

See?

It's an easy game to play. :P

9. Yes, by all means overlook the obvious: 9/11/2001: FAILURE TO PROTECT.
That was the big one. There's no coming back from that failure.

Oh, wait...Katrina...
