I'm tired of soiling "dogs" with the Blue Dog comparison. I love dogs. Dogs are loyal and return their love.
Is it too harsh to call a human being a virus? No.
What's harsh is a virus that votes against health care for all. That's HARSH!
A DLC virus shows no loyalty to the voters. They organize and raise funds to elect their people for several reasons. 1. To contain and stifle progressive policy. 2. To protect the military/industrial complex. 3. To protect corporatism. 4. To protect wealth. 5. To stifle any worker/union uprising. 6. Keep wages low and protect the wealth divide. 7. Most Blue Virus' are wealthy individuals with strong connections to corporate America.
But, they also have turned their backs to the wrath of the blogosphere and the net in general.
To anyone who thinks that the net plays no role in modern and future elections, see Obama '08. Barack wrote the book on using the net as a grassroots organizing tool. Would Obama have been elected without the net? Possible, but it would have been far more difficult.
Politicians can no longer hide their evil intentions. Shit doesn't just get swept under the rug anymore. Instead it gets blown across the blogosphere in seconds. It gets DU'd, Huff'd, Youtubed, Tweeted, probably even shows up on some porn sites.
It? Think Max Baucus, Kent Conrad, LIEberman, The Nelson Twins... all vilified and they earned every fucking ounce of their vilification.
If you're a BLUE VIRUS pol that reads DU. Know that you can no longer hide your evil intentions from us, the voters. The instant communication power of the net won't allow you to hide your disloyalty to the people.
YOU CAN NO LONGER HIDE YOUR ANTI-PEOPLE PRO-CORPORATISM.
You tried but failed to outsmart and pull the wool over the eyes of a very smart segment of the population, progressives. A career mistake.
2010's primary season will expose that mistake.
Can a Blue Puke win a Democratic primary? In any state?
