Isn't it incredible how vehemently insurance companies oppose a bill....
....that is supposedly going to be such a windfall of profits for them?

I guess they must really feel bad about screwing the American people all these years and want to pay us back by defeating this bill!

Republicans too!

How noble of them!

3. S...t..ra...n ge . it's one side (pukes and Ins co's) think it goes too far, and
DU far lefties think it doesn't go far enough. So in the real world, we get an imperfect but reasonable COMPROMISE- the pragmatic progressives that believe that this is a step forward and a foundation to build on, and a bill that can actually get enough votes to pass.

4. It's been exceptionally clever....and Orwellian...
They know that the Public hates them and will want to support what they oppose.

5. That explains why they sent busloads of Americans to protest the bill!
On numerous occasions.

How clever of them!

6. The insurance companies want the bill. They just want it stripped of anything
which threatens their profits. They have, also, run millions in ads supporting health care reform. Their fight was to get any hint of competition for them taken out. I suspect they can live with the House version of the PO, weakened as it is, now. The 'fight' now is just for our entertainment and to defeat the PO in the Senate version.

9. Why then, are they funneling money to legislators vowing to defeat the bill?

10. It's a win/win situation
If there's no bill, they get to keep doing what they're already doing. With the bill just passed, they get to do most of what they've been doing and have more hosts, er, "customers" to do it to.
