I would like you to answer to explain how denying any coverage to millions.

1) Do you currently have insurance coverage?

2) If you lose that coverage is there any reason to believe you might be denied insurance coverage elsewhere?

3) Do you ever consider the fact that at some point in their lives people become ill or are at risk to develop a disability?

I do not get either the "I got mine" mindset or the "my way or no way" mindset when people are suffering and dying. Both positions would maintain the status quo through obstruction to change because it is change or change that does not fit an exact prescription.

Either way it is shameful to cause pain and suffering and loss of life just because and for no other reason. I give a grudging nod to the Rs because they are at least honest in saying they don't give a damn about anything but profits and keeping "theirs." I give no nods to those who claim they are on this side of the divide but will not be honest in admitting that the all or nothing approach in reality has the same outcome.

I consider myself a liberal and a progressive and I believe that you cannot be one without the other--those terms are not mutually exclusive. I also believe that you cannot give lip service to caring about "the people" and contribute to the problem. A step forward is a step forward that can be followed by other steps.

1. Kicking because someone needs to explain to me why
naysayers on our side off the equation have a morally superior claim to denying any reform.

2. what about
"I don't have coverage and this bill doesn't seem to get me there.' I actually think this effort may end up kicking me in the ass. I'll admit that I don't really have all of the answers to my questions. But the real problem here isn't with the doubters, it's with the folks who are insisting that this is the best we can do, as if they want us to just fold in behind this flawed bill from the House.

Bad bill, I think. We probably shouldn't dig in with full support until the Senate has a whack at it.

3. I agree we can do better but it is a foot in the door.

No bill is ever the end word on a subject in our system. This is a beginning and we should be working on the next step instead of trying to knock it off the table for another 60 years. How many people have to die before we get any forward movement?

MISinformation and the people be damned.
