Poll question: An unambiguous yes/no poll on health care reform
The poll is about yesterday's results. The reasons for both yes and no answers are probably all over the lot. And you can cite yours in an answer if you care to tell us why you voted as you did. But that isn't necessary.

The questions relate to the bill passed last night.

1. I'm glad it passed.
Get it moving and get it done. The longer it sits there the more it will be diluted.

I am not for the pubs destroying any steps towards health care, and that is what this boils down to. No, it isn't the greatest, but it's the greatest we've seen in our lifetimes.

Think about it.

3. yep.
yep yep. every time i call or write one of my congress persons i let them know that what i really want is single payer for everyone, but hell we need something. if this becomes law no more denials based on pre-existing conditions, no more caps. that IS progress. as it stands right now, my son's fiance is uninsurable. with this law she will be insured.

4. If it contained a true public option, I would be celebrating. As it is, no.

5. +1
And I still believe anything less than a single payer system will ultimately prove a failure.

8. The opposition will say "You got your heathcare reform, now stop complaining."
I would have wanted single payer, or public option. I think the negatives of this bill are maybe equal to the positives. And I am concerned that Americans are getting sick of hearing about it.

Americans sick of hearing about the constant fighting about this, combined with the opposition saying "You got your heath care reform, now stop complaining." could equal the end of any improvements to this whole thing.
It seems like right now the repubs are almost as powerful as the dems in spite of the huge advantage the dems have. If the repubs gain more power, which I am sure they will, I think the positive substance of this bill will quickly go down the crapper, in spite of the fact that it survives in name, and in spite of the fact that the administration will declare victory for health care reform.

12. It's not just the "opposition" who will say that.
I promise you're gonna hear plenty of that from our own "leadership" for the next 30 years.

11. 100% NO!
This bill passing means the story's over. They'll all pat themselves on the back and say they've done their best, the media will stop covering it, and the corporations win. Nothing changes, the insurance companies are still in charge. Watch while they find more creative ways besides "pre-existing conditions" to deny coverage - the more expensive the procedure, the more flagrantly they will violate the new law.

17. Doesn't matter
The cheerleader infiltration of GD has been happening pretty much all this last week. As if all the threads bashing an actual Democratic congressman from Ohio weren't evidence enough of that :evilfrown:
