"It’s like winning a huge battle, but half of your friends were killed or wounded."
From Daily Kos:

There’s a few folks who don’t understand why some of us are upset about the way things went down today. Our Scarecrow explains it well, in comments:

It’s like winning a huge battle, but half of your friends were killed or wounded.

36 million more people will be insured or become eligible for Medicaid
There will be a trillion dollars raised to help subsidize this.
There will be multiple measures to help control the costs of Medicare
We will stop subsidizing private insurers in Medicare Advantage
Closes the donut hole
Allows Medicare negotiation for drugs
Includes the seeds of a public option
Prohibits denials based on prior conditions; ends rescissions except for fraud
funds more education for doctors/nurses
Begins dozens of health prevention programs, pilots, surveys
Creates entities to evaluate and recommend better treatment, cost saving
And on and on.

It’s a massive achievement, but women, mostly poor, paid a price.

Kind of sums it up.

I'm glad we are moving forward with health care reform, but we took a big step backwards in that millions of women were thrown under the bus for about 20 blue dog votes (and 1 republican vote). We're expendable to these old, white patriarchs. I'm sick of being a pawn by virtue of my sex. I think something like 19 who voted for the Stupak Amendment didn't even vote for HRC.

WhoTH is going to help these women pay for the babies they are being forced to give birth too? Let's not forget that birth control is another big, huge SIN to the Party Of Penii and abstinence is the word of the day. Of course this doesn't apply to those horny, can't-control-my-dick Congresspeople who have the big $$ to pay off a (extremely unplanned and unwanted) pregnancy.

The cute blond/blue eyed easiest to adopt ones, the yellow/brown brown eyed easier to adopt ones and the black/dark brown eyed ones that hardly anybody wants? Let's not discuss the ones whose mothers are addicted to alcohol, drugs are born into an abusive family.

Of course, Republican fucktards will make sure that our foster care systems and orphanages will receive a ton of funding, Child Protective Services will also receive a ton of funding to make sure the unwanted are not used or abused, women with unwanted children will receive parenting classes as well as all the supplies they'll need to raise that kid until it reaches 18 years of age, and these women will receive better subsidies from the government to feed and clothe these unwanted little visitors. Of course they will.

Right?

Right?!!!!!
