Well yes, a lot of it is. But many presidents have tried for almost 100 years to get some kind of meaningful health care reform passed. And failed.

Our politicians are owned by corporate America, head to toes. They are for the most part, a lousy bunch who are far more concerned with preserving their own careers and building power than they are with sticking their necks out for any reason other than their self-preservation.

In this context, getting an HCR bill passed that helps the little guy (us) is amazing. And Obama's about to do it, if the bill survives the Senate with most of the important parts intact.

I have never in my life been more disgusted with Congress. Geez, what a rat pack. No wonder the bill is a small shadow of what it could be. But in this context, I'll take it and consider it, given the circumstances, a big step forward.

1. uh, this is not "meaningful healthcare reform" -- not even close. It is however
the insurance industry profit protection act.

How anyone can call this piece of trash 'reform' is beyond me.

2. You understand.
One wonders why anyone would cheer this crap legislation on?

I hope the Supreme Court takes it apart pronto.
