Some Folks Here Owe DU an Apology...
For demanding higher standards in our public servants. How ungrateful is that? Why can't you just accept the limitations set by our elected leaders and be happy with that? Sheez.

3. Ya know what? Our public servants, as human and fallible as they are, have
been working their asses off on a variety of things since we took the majority this year.

I've welcomed the change.

5. Credit where credit is due.
A for effort from the progressive caucus. But I can't blame anyone for being pissed by what we're seeing with HCR. We need people rattling the pots, so we can urge congress to stay at it after this squeaks through.

8. It's a betrayal of the American Dream!
Edited on Sat Nov-07-09 09:24 PM by JVS
A dream that specifically stipulates that the rich ought to be lounging by the pool drinking large alcoholic beverages.

11. I don't mean to be mean to babylonsis but, holy cow
most of the people I know including my kids would love to have a job to work their asses off in.

And our president working? That's just communism.

12. You don't see a difference in what's been done this session
vs. the past 8? I do.

As for work, I just moved; my next step is to try to find a job. So, my tune might change. ;)

But I'm not in Congress and never will be either. Apples-oranges.

13. Great good luck on your job search.
After two years, I've got a contract and a casual teaching gig, too. It was getting scary.

10. Higher standards? I'd be glad just to see them held accountable.
"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."

"I think I can say, and say with pride, that we have some legislatures that bring in higher prices than any in the world."

"Senator: Person who makes laws in Washington when not doing time."

"To my mind Judas Iscariot was nothing but a low, mean, premature Congressman."

Mark Twain
