I haven't watched the debate but has anyone pointed out that covering abortion would save a public
health plan a lot of money. The abortion procedure is cheaper than the birthing procedure and the child would probably then be on the public plan with more costs.

1. Safer than pregnancy/delivery, too.
But the religious zealots don't care about that.

4. And if they didn't want to fund abortion, why not mandate coverage of contraception ?
Oh, that's right, the Catholic Bishops would have shit themselves.

6. Apparantly it is okay for the government to get between a doctor
and a female patient. This is bullshit, when they start finding more poor babies in trashcans and dumpsters, women who can't afford to get an abortion doing self abortions....Women have just taken two steps back in this country, especially if they are well off.

For the Dems that led to these compromises we should make it our duty to remove them and replace them with Dems that will do what we want done. I am sick of the concessions...

8.  Hey but the "new" dems think these concessions are par for the course.
Women are expendable.A so called democrat told ne that they as a taxpayer shouldn't have to pay for the irrospinisbility and laziness of womwen who won't practice birth control. Another told me abortions can still be gotten for "only" $500 at PP, and you could always buy a rider to cover it. Sound familiar? The good old days when only the rich could get abortions are back.My favorite remmark was the DUer who said"women should pay for their own "fix"!

9. It's sickening when they use these lines of argument
it's almost as if they believe men had nothing to do with the pregnancy.

This outright attack on womens rights is appalling.

As is homophobia.
