Gulf Coast Critters, keep an eye out for Ida. She's full of surprises.
It's going through a lot of changes, so no telling what she will be doing come Sunday. Yesterday they thought it would peter out. Oh well.

9. Not until all the weathermen (and girls) wet their pants about Ida.
It will go something like this:

Tropical storm Ida is passing some 400 miles to our west and isn't likely to cause any damage to anyone, BUT back in 1943 a freak late season storm struck Boca Mocha on November 8TH killing four people. Here to tell you how to prepare for a hurricane is Sally Cracker. Sally>

3. No worries. It will fizzle, and be little more than a heavy rain by the
time it comes ashore near Panama City.

We are not doomed.

A lot of rain and a lot of the problems associated with that such as flooding, otherwise no biggie.

Gulf is cooling, losing energy.
We may get some much needed rain.
Maybe too much, but no hurricane.

I need to get that over and done.

But the last time North Florida had a November hurricane, we had no power for a week and as a result had no Thanksgiving dinner. (Hurricane Kate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Kate_%281985%29)

I have a friend in Florida that hunkers down and stays drunk as the hurricane passes over. I guess being in a drunken stupor is preferable to being anxiety ridden.
