THANKS to Keith Olbermann, and to him alone the powers-that-be have made a new law barring the discrimination of an entire class of sick people from health care rejection just because a few of those in the class are "too expensive".

Olbermann first highlighted this sickening abuse in his "worst persons in the world" segment, and subsequently New York State Senator Eric Scheinerman co-sponsored "Ian's Law", barring the health care companies from pulling such repulsive crap on the most vulnerable among us.

Now let the right wingers show us which noise machine element has actually highlighted a societal problem and done anything to change it.

I dare you.

2. The other side has plenty of passion.
It's just that the 20%ers are overwhelmingly ignorant and strongly inclined to swallow any lie bellowed loud enough and often enough by someone on Fox "news" or talk radio. No truth, no facts, plenty of passion - what a great combination!

It's really striking how easy it is to fool some of the people all of the time.

3. But my question is, what has anyone on the noise machine side ever done to improve life for anyone?
I think Keith Olbermann has proved his worth on this alone (and he's done a lot more, to say the least).

4. I can't think of a single thing of value that has emerged from the right.
They are on the wrong side of every issue in every poll and every Congressional vote. Creeping Reaganism has almost destroyed the global economy. Their most prominent spokesliars (Palin, Bachmann, Blackburn, Foxx) seem to be mostly batshit crazy females, for some reason.

Conservative ideas have been shown to not work over and over and over again (abstinence-only sex education, anyone? Iraq? Deregulation? Bueller?) and yet we continue to blindly frame all issues from a conservative perspective, proceeding merrily down the road to Hell built for us by the endless legions of wingnuts we are cursed with here.

They want their country back? What about mine?

8. I appreciate your sentiment, but I find his Lou Dobbs voice hilarious.
The others, I can do without.
