Violence usually lags the collapse of a society by about 9 months
I read that earlier this year, I don't know where but nobody would give a crap anyway. The study showed that it takes that long for widespread frustration to settle into the society overall. The U.S. form of capitalism totally collapsed earlier this year and the only thing that supposedly saved it was Obama allowed Goldman, J.P. Morgan and a few other criminal firms to be the rulers of failed capitalism/fascism.

While that BS continues to be pumped by every propaganda outlet existing, the American people are living in reality, a jobless reality of massive debt and a certain future of death without health care or any kind or meaningful work. Yes, the violence is here just as predicted, too bad nobody was listening and nobody will ever be smart enough to listen in this Orwellian land full of bought and paid for proles.

1. Typically, when a republic fails, a dictatorship steps in to enforce order.
But even strong dictatorships eventually weaken and collapse. Then there is nothing holding back chaos. It's the final phase. It's what eventually swept away what once was a powerful Roman Empire.

6. Well, the leadership did. Public service became just another avenue to gain power.
They didn't enter service to help Roman citizens anymore. They just did it to carve a slice of the cake for themselves, and that's where things went downhill. When the shit hit the fan, they simply sequestered themselves behind the high walls of their estates, which would become the prototype of the medieval manor.

This sounds like the kind of nonsense that Ronald Reagan used to make-up on the spot up at his press conferences - but by all means keep catapulting the propaganda.

15. No, this just sounds like the kind of thing that end-timers would say...
They'd say that mass killings like this signal the end of the world, jesus coming and all that.

23. i think that's making too much of idiots -- and shrugging off
real concerns.

it would be vry very hard to argue that we are society on the uo=swing -- now are we are on an irreversible down swing/ -- i don't know --

but events like these surely would be something that historians would consider.
not unlike the maya -- leaving out the 2012 horseshit and all.

I dunno about the RW - they are pretty much pansies under all the noisemaking buffoonery - but we Dems are made of much tougher stuff. We're not gonna riot in the streets just because some banks got themselves into deep shit.

24. I don't have to share your opinion
Have societies collapsed in the past? Sure they have. There are also lots of cases when things have been worse than this and we survived it like the Civil War, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, World War I and World War II. Europe survived the Plague. Africa is in the middle of famine and disease right now. I think if any society is on the verge right now it is probably Africa and yet we pretty much ignore them because they really don't have anything we want. I don't know what is going to happen. None of us have crystal balls. None of us know when or if our society will end. I don't know that it won't happen and you don't know that it will happen. Some insist that the Book of Revelations is happening right now and that the apocolypse will happen in 2012. But guess what. People have been predicting the end of the world for over 2000 years. Will our world end someday? Will our society end someday? Everything changes. Nothing is permanent. Nothing stays the same. So, eventually yes I'm sure our society will end and eventually our world will end, but I highly doubt it is going to happen right now or even in 2012.

25. So who is going to buy all those houses that are sitting vacant now?
Because the mortgage scams have been shut down and there are 6 people for every job-many of which are entry level and pay peanuts.

So who the hell can afford those houses that are 200K 300K 400K and higher?

Look, No one is forcing you to agree with me and yes, none of us has a crystal ball.

I agree with you there and will go even further to say that everything still looks the same in my neck of the woods and my husband has a very secure job-we're ok.

But the fact is that foreclosures and bankruptcies are at an all time record high right now.

And that should worry all of us because in the end we are all interdependent on each other.

Things in this country started slowly disintegrating almost 30 or more years ago...but the problem is that the disintegration is gaining speed now.

And that worries the hell out of me.
