Bush and Cheney fucked up the army
It's overstretched. Military people cannot handle all these ridiculous deployments.

Stop the fucking wars Obama in the name of peace. Bring the troops home.

1. All this talk about "resilience training" is pretty scary
From what I've read PTSD has nothing to do with resilience, or bravery, or anything else besides seeing and doing things that the human brain can't process.

military people and their families, and the horrible wounds suffered in these wars are devastating to families, friends and comrades of the injured.

Bush put these good people in harm's way for no reason, and he and the Republicans abandoned them after they were greviously injured in combat.

Republicans are a disgrace, Bush/Cheney are criminals.

I cannot abide "bipartisanship" with these scum.

6. Of course they did, the army's socialist. They want people to join Blackwater over the public army.
Why wouldn't they try to wreck the army?

7. not true at all...
if people didn't join the regular army first, blackwater would be responsible for all their training.

but was contradicted the next day when a spokesman for AM General said they could easily make more but haven't been asked.

22. Sweet memory of a troop standing up to the goat and asking why they had to pick through the trash
to upgrade their hummers. When I think back at all of the *hit those people pulled I really wonder how it went on so long! Our troops are still suffering from the abuse!

27. Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle etc.
Project for the New American Century and the neo-cons were the catalysts for the Iraq adventure. In reality Bush reluctantly climbed on board in the beginning. I'm not excusing him of fault for his role in the unfolding debacle. I do however believe it's time to attempt to fix the cause and not the symptom. Belly aching about Bush-Cheney ignores the foundation of the problem which is corporate take over of govt. and this was not accomplished solely during the Bush Cheney admin. It's also time to focus a critical eye on govt. as a whole, and not be so partisan. e.g. where was the outrage when we stood by and let the Darfur genocide unfold? Hence, I say yes to those against imperial overstretch of both parties, though the Republican equivalent of D. Kucinich, at this point is mainly Ron Paul.

9. They've let gang members in the military too
The military used to have standards for who they put into uniform....but as the wars dragged on, they took just about anyone willing to go, personal character be damned.

Gang members with military firearms training....it's a disaster.

You reap what you sow. I can't imagine what's coming from the gang members when they return from Iraq and Afghanistan.

25. Oh we have a gang members for along time
I remember being briefed on Militias and Gangs sending people to enlist for training in weapons and explosives so they coulod have a trainer when they got back on the block with...and this was in the late 80's and 90's.

29. Exactly Army Vet
The military is a microcosm of society, and as such will be represented by the same elements in society, regardless of the efforts to keep the undesirables out.

28. Are you a recruiter or former recruiter?
The military does everything in it's power to ensure gang members or members of other hate groups don't join the service. The phenomenon of which you speak has been a problem long before the advent of Iraq or Afghanistan. If you ever prepared an enlistment packet on an individual you'd understand.
