Detroit DU'ers: What's going on at the GM Offices and Plants?
Now that GM is no more..are there still departments at the GM HQ? Have they taken a new name? In short, when GM died, did everyone go looking for new jobs, or was there some skeleton staff that stayed?

3. Exactly. The OP must think because they declared bankruptcy that the buildings are empty.
The company is alive, and although not well, it is in recovery.

They renamed them selves to Liquidation Motors. Because its being liquidated. thats as dead as dead gets. There is a new company with a similar(but different) name though that bought the old parts that you might be confused with though.

2. GM has terminatred a lot of white collar jobs and replaced them with contractors
This way they pay no benefits. Busts the unions and replace white collar with temps and what do you get? Cheap labor.
