Fear of the people of Brown color or strange sounding names
It's starting ll over again. Us vs. them, Christians vs. Muslims. Our God vs. their God. I'm listening to the MSM over this tragedy in Texas, and the back story isn't that this is a troubled man, the back story is he's a MUSLIM, one of THEM, an evil doer, and that he had made all of these plans and the FBI was investigating him, and evil evil evil, and don't let your guard down, they are coming for us, and Oh My God he is alive we have to find out why he hates us and why didn't they kill him with all of those guns everywhere, and he LOOKS like one of us, my God it's an ARMY base for Christ's sake, strap on your guns, and lets get a warrant and see what is on his computer, concern, fear, pray pray pray, look over your shoulder, report report if it looks strange tell the police, fear fear fear............

Fear. Stirring the pot. Send more troops over there so that they can't come over here. Kill them all let God sort them out.

We have lost control to fear. Fear of the few losing control to the many. And they are going to USE this to their advantage.

5. I am so tired of the MSM JUMPING to conclusions........
why not wait till we have the facts instead of spreading fear? And why if his harassment by others IS true, then what? The skinheads and ultra-Reich-Xians are everywhere in the military. I can ONLY assume that one, this man snapped, two lots of people died because he IS mentally ill. And our system didn't have enough checks and balances to stop him.

9. They all want to be the very first with the latest news, accurate or not.
It's all about ratings.

16. And then repeat it endlessly 24/7
showing the same clips over and over and over and over until the next sensational story takes precedence. How many times did we see the loop footage of the planes crashing into the Towers? All the TV news is like that now.

2. I think that's a bit simplistic
Gotta say, I thought the media would be worse than it's been.

4. It's being played like a really bad rerun and it works nearly every time.
Sometimes I'm not even sure how we got Obama elected in the first place. He had both brown skin and a funny sounding name going against him.

To their credit, they tried but I guess the Bin Laden videotape was showing too many obvious signs of abuse. :sarcasm:

So how long before we have that super surge in Afghanistan?

15. Easy. Bush was just that bad.
The reason Barack cut short his Senate term is because he knew history was ripe for him to break this barrier. It would not be available to him any other time. NOW was the time...back then that is.

Bush even had the Republicans mad at him. THAT'S how bad it was.
So even his brown skin and exotic name weren't enough to shake people so so so tired of Bush and anyone like him.

When the stars are aligned you have to take your opportunity. Some things are once-in-a-lifetime shots. Miss it & it's over. Simple as that.

And even with all that he only won by a little under 10% of the vote.
This is why Obama has to make good, better, and best decisions.
If he fails, so much goes down with him. Believe that.

As for this tragedy the first thing I thought of was not his ethnic/religious heritage but what if the guy had episodes of PTSD or was he haunted in dealing with the issues of those he counseled.
But then again I'm not one of those "blame the race" type of folks anyway.
This is gonna be used against Middle Eastern/Muslim people, no doubt. And that's angering. It really should not be that way.
It won't be with me I guarantee you that.

10. More people are becoming increasingly irrational.
Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 08:29 AM by chrisa
All it would take was another big attack, and the Constitution shredding and anti-Muslim hate intensifies some more. How sad that people can't seperate the religion from the individual. It's a new form of racism that, sadly, is becoming increasingly acceptible.

13. You are right.
I worry today about the many Muslim personnel in our military. It is going to be a very bad few weeks for them.

Our national disgrace of racism and religionism is showing again.
