Michele Bachmann held a rally on Capitol Hill Thursday to try and "scare" lawmakers into voting against health care reform. Will it work? Probably not, but at least she got all these interesting signs out of it.

and only looked at a few more before I left the page. Today, Andrea Mitchell, beast that she is, asked a repub lawmaker if it was a good thing that these people brought these signs. She asked if that was the message that the tea party wanted to convey.

10. I think the truck with the heaven/hell sign has made the rounds...

...in D.C. There was something similar parked on Rhode Island Avenue NW a few weeks back -- a truck plastered with signs depictingt Terri Schiavo, an elderly woman in the coffin, aborted fetuses, etc.

The reference to Nancy Pelosi having to choose between heaven and hell, and the suggestion that money leads to hell, is highly ironic because of course the U.S. right wing is brought to us by the monied interests and a rabid adoration of capitalism to the exclusion of all else. If the the person who put together that truck had actually read the Gospels he/she would know that Jesus did a lot of healing, never asked about preexisting conditions, and of course said you cannot serve God and Mammon. Rupert Murdoch, Dick Armey, the insurance companies, et al are, well, just a tad in the Mammon camp...
