The War Comes Home (again)
Day after day the terror and horror of these wars is relived by vets and by civiians who have suffered through the carnage.

Ft Hood has a huge number of suicides of returning vets.

The horror stories of the war reverberate through the community and through the country.

But today the war actually came to this country.

I know it is too early to say exactly what the trigger was for this man, who day after day had to deal with the trauma of war in the minds and voices of his fellow soldiers.

Maybe he planned it as an act of war. Maybe he wanted to stop some future death and trauma. Maybe he just went crazy and took it out on those who he had come to despise for whatever reason he manufactured. Maybe it was a political act. Maybe it was drugs.

But i believe that the bottom line is that the utlimate trigger was the violence and carnage of two failed wars fought without good reason and without any realization tnat the violence we beget there will ultimately beget violence here. Malcolm X said it is only natural violence will occur "when the chickens come home to roost"

Obama needs to understand that these Bush wars are abominations and are only creating more violence and death and hatred and making our nation LESS secure.

Whatever else comes from this rampage today, I hope that SOMETHING good can come from the lessons we learn from it:

The wars of Bush must end. The violence is in our own soil. It was only a matter of time before suicide attacks began.

And if Obama does not end these wars, there will only be more blood and violence.

I believe Obama is a man of Peace.

But does he have the wisdom to know that peace is more important than his own political ambition and ego? Can he see that unless he ends these wars that his legacy will be almost all failure?

I would rather see him be a one term president than see these wars continue to escalate or continue at all. Too many precious lives are being destroyed.

I may regret speaking these words here at DU. But it was my first thought today: this would not have happened today if Obama were bringing ALL the troops home already and quickly.

3. It depends
I would still ant to more about him.

But no matter what, i think the war is the most likely cause of this horror

even if he had been a southern baptist

2. This guy was in ROTC in college and got his college
paid for by the Government. He got his PHD and then went into the military as an officer, they are reporting that his brother said his greatest fear was getting deployed because of all of the horror he was hearing day in and day out as a counselor.

This guy more than likely should not have been in the military.

4. Maybe it was simply total fear which motivated him
fear of the war...

fear that it would make him snap...

fear that these soldier would go on to kill and do more harm.

In my opinion none of the victims should have been in the military at this time either.

Bush lied and hundreds of thousands die...
