Wendall Potter has company-Blue Cross pitchman jumps ship
Andy Cobb has had enough. A former pitchman for BlueCross Blue Shield of Florida, Cobb is breaking with the firm and speaking out in favor of health care reform and a public health insurance option.
"This is the time when Americans have to choose which side we're on," Cobb told HuffPost, quoting Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio). "Is it the insurance companies or the American people?"
Cobb calls on what he dubs his fellow "spokes-jerks" -- singling out the FreeCreditReport.com guy -- to stop hawking products that hurt the American people.

Shouldn't this help the case for strong public option. Hello? Are any of our representatives on our side?

5. republicans and (sadly) a large number of democratic members of congress
are the only people in the US who support the insurance companies and oppose health care reform

8. I think polls showing Americans like their health care coverage are simply
a reflection of those grateful they have coverage. I really don't think anyone could say they wouldn't like something more secure and affordable.

telling me I had to drive 300 miles for a mammogram (illegal) and I told her how sorry I felt for her having her job. Her response "I LOVE MY JOB! Been doing this for 29 yrs!" EVIL WOMAN!

9. Infuriating! Not sure how it is in your state but I have gotten good results in the past by...
telling them I am going to the state insurance commissioner with my complaint. I mean, back when I had insurance. Pissed me off it took that to get action but it generally worked when I played that card.

12. A nice motivator and probably a clue as to why the Republicans want
to allow insurance companies to sell across state lines. Perhaps the thought is they would all go set up shop in states with 'understanding' commissioners and make it harder for people to access regulators.

13. Insurance "executives" should be offered a "signing bonus" to come to the other side
and then put THEM in charge of the public option, since they know all the sneaky tricks that have been played in the past, and could guard against them:)

14. Too bad that the current legislation gives his former employer miore
--power over everyone. If the option were public, any member of the public could choose it. That is emphatically not the case.
