This area has a very heavy Roman Catholic presence and unless someone gets through to these ding dongs that there are more important things in the world than saving a sperm in an ova (i.e., not having an insane person for a representative) she will continue to get re-elected unless we run a strong Democrat who is also anti-abortion. My understanding is that we have a couple running in this upcoming primary.

My brother is also a Catholic and anti-abortion and although we don't live in her district, people literally across the highway do. He has talked to the people he goes to church with until he is blue in the face to try to get across that abortion is not the only issue to vote on and that voting for her and Bush was insane, but they simply will not listen. Of course, because he's also a bigot he is "afraid of Obama". He acts like a dork over that, but he does have some sense. I'm sure he voted for him.

There are rabid anti-abortionists in our area and many bumper stickers about it. You cannot go anywhere without seeing them. "You can't be a Catholic and pro-abortion" is their favorite.
