24. I hope he doesn't.
I hope he loses a lot of money because of his medical bills.

He's trying to stop "other" people from being able to survive a medical emergency financially intact -- I hope he gets reamed by his insurance company, big time.

I swear, I think most of this outrage is because these angry old white men can't bear to think that their tax money might go to help a poor black woman.

It doesn't matter - most of those teabaggers look like they're on Medicare. The hypocrisy is strong with them.

31. An old freeper joke
Edited on Thu Nov-05-09 07:25 PM by Canuckistanian
Refers to members of the "101st Chairborne", those warriors who sat on their ass while real Americans died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They are usually portrayed as 30-somethings, living in their mom's basement and eating Cheetos while typing their brave, brave posts supporting the invasion and defending America's honor.

75. There's also the joke about the freeper who went to the doctor
He went to the doctor, complaining that his penis had mysteriously turned orange. The doctor examined him and yes, the guy's entire appendage was bright orange.

The doctor asked, "Have you been doing anything unusual lately?" The freeper replied, "No, just the usual...I just sit all day, watching porno flicks and eating Cheetos."

WASHINGTON - NOVEMBER 05: Thousands of people from across the country attend a news conference and rally to protest the health care bill on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol November 5, 2009 in Washington, DC. Most Republican members of the House of Representatives led by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) attended the rally to voice their opposition to the House version of the health care reform legislation moving through Congress

"Thousands" as in maybe 2 thousands ?

67. History repeats itself
When the deathers were rioting at town-hall meetings in August, there was a protestor that got in a scuffle and fell and hurt his knee. Required surgery to fix.

And.... unemployed with no insurance.

Of course.

And he was reduced to sitting around with a coffee can, collecting donations to help pay his medical bills.

Reality bites another one in the ass.

Edited on Fri Nov-06-09 05:37 AM by colorado_ufo
She: Don't talk to me about health care reform, not if you want us to stay friends!

Me: OK, fine. How is your roommate, Kathy? (Not real name)

She: Pretty good, but she has been off her medication. Stupid clinic! They didn't give her enough of her antidepressants, then they closed and she couldn't get a refill. She mentally crashed, but she refused to let me take her to the emergency room. That just shows how lousy government-run medicine is!

Me (seizing the opportunity): Why doesn't she get private insurance?

She (completely missing the irony of what was happening in her own house): Kathy lost her job, and she can't get insurance.

Me: Well, then, that's the problem, isn't it?

Long silence.

Unbelievably, the above was an actual conversation just one week ago.

Ambulance = 800.00
Limo = 300.00

If Billionaires For Wealth Care really wanted to throw their money around. They would quit renting those cheap ass limo's and start renting those really expensive ambulances to transport them to their protests. They could staff the ambulances with Senators to give them emergency Cash infusions en route to the protest. You know to ensure that rich becomes a place like hell. Somewhere you can enter but never leave. Because they will bankrupt the government trying to keep the rich from losing a single dime.

86. One thing was missing
Where was Bachmann screaming, "Don't you touch him, you socialists!" and shooing them off?

These were Paramedics paid for with tax dollars. According to those present, including the
fat guy who collapsed, they had no business attending to some private citizen at all. No
government agency does.

I see a sign there saying "Jacksonville, FL vote no on health care." So, if they vote not on
care, why aren't they screaming in protest about their compatriot getting health care right
there in front of their very eyes? That must have been to them about as disturbing as showing
Deep Throat at Mass in the Vatican. Now the guy might live. How obscene. The Deathers must
be mortally offended.

Disgusting pig goes to tea party rallies, and yet he works a horrible part-time minimum wage job, and hopes to qualify for health insurance one day. I'd feel sorry for his situation if he weren't so sure that his situation is because all the blacks, hispanics and women are getting the IT jobs he thinks he deserves.

The bad people in this picture - brothers, fathers, sons or grandsons, are trying to make sure other people can't get health care. If they think they're Christians, they are flying directly in the face of their exemplar's teachings.

If they were protesting abortion, I'd disagree with their point of view, but I'd feel sorry if one fell ill. But these people are simply "I got mine" selfish bastards trying to make sure other people aren't taken care of. No sympathy. None.

185. Compassion is, as compassion does. It's clear. Those people have been
atomising your society, instead of bringing you together. It's not rocket science.

173. I can't fault you this opinion.
Especially the sentence:
"The bad people in this picture - brothers, fathers, sons or grandsons, are trying to make sure other people can't get health care."

It's a true statement and because of the reason for their rally - yes, they cartainly ARE bad people.

No sympathy. None.

167. I hope he is ok too.
I really do. I also hope he has a new view on things. Like how some one can get sick at anytime, anyplace. And that he realizes how lucky he was to have the services paid by tax dollars available to take care of him. And that he might have a new appreciation for others who find themselves ill and in need of help.

I hope he will be ok.

Glenn will tell him he was poisoned by Acorn operatives and that the EMT's were members of the SEIU. The guy will nod & say "Those dirty Marxists!!!"

144. How many thousands?
When news reports like this hit us in the face it seems like tremendous support for the anti side.

What is the truth? I heard it was about four thousand people attended.

And if that man was willing to put his principles into action, he should have refused the "socialized" treatment he received. After all, we all paid for it.
But on second thought, perhaps they'll bill his insurance company.

ANY HEALTH CARE. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE HELPED HIM. THINK HOW UPSET HE MUST FEEL THAT HE GOT HELP FROM HIS COMMUNITY?? WELL, MAYBE HE'LL FEEL BETTER WHEN HE PAYS FOR THAT CARE! as I certainly expect him to do.. I wouldn't want him to compromise his values of independence.

169. On the other hand
I am sure the man is quite frightened about what is going on. If I wish for his death or harm then I am simply perpetuating the hate as is spewed by the teabaggers themselves. Some of these people seem to me to be just ignorant and easily misled. I could hope that for this man and maybe some of the witnesses that his predicament and the excellent response he got introduces a big element of doubt in what they are doing and believe in.
